Re: Admitting in public to going bikepacking.....
My non-bikepacking friends now and then come along and really enjoy it, but won't go on a regular basis. They completely understand the allure. Colleagues who bike like the idea but feel more like staying in for the night. They only think I'm mad when it comes to 100+ km days, riding across countrie...

Re: Iceland this September - variation on the Glacier 360
Mid September is a super time to travel in Iceland. No snow melt, low glacier run off, wonderful autumn colours (Salix Polaris especially) and the night goes dark which means you'll get to see the northern lights (with a bit of luck) :-bd https://fstatic1.mtb-news.de/v3/21/2106/2106770-awzdv8dylz7i-...

Re: Endurobikepacking
5,000m of vertical loss.... on trail? Wow, now that I envy. Distances covered are more than I expected, impressed Gian. Yes. hardly any road (tarmac or gravel). Most vert loss trails are 100 % pure. That's nothing, just getting warm with a new bike. More to come... I'll show you some of my fav's if...

Re: Endurobikepacking
Thanks for that Gian, nice to see someone out riding a long way in technical terrain rather than the longer easier riding. What sort of distance did you manage to cover? Villages for re-supply? Remember the former direct descent to Shenavall in the Fisherfield along the small ravine? That's about t...

Well it may not be for everyone, but exactly what I was looking for.
Tested many bikes of a certain pedigree over about 6 weeks and ended up with this bold cycle.

Re: 29+ frame
How much plus?
Can be tricky to find out, but some 29er frames with sliding drop out will also take proper 2.6" tyres on up to 35 mm internal rims.
My old KHS Solo SE does.
Perhaps a Kona Unit too..?

I usually travel in the same clothes out and back, pack 'em away while in country, Now I like that idea, I could leave them in the bike box :-bd Same here. Clothes don't smell by them self. If you make sure to visit hot pots every now and then it shouldn't be that bad... Besides such luxuries like ...

As stated elsewhere, well done Andy. That night we texted I was in a special place and kind of felt as if we were sharing it. You'll soon be out and about again. Horrible news about Eric. Sad stuff. So much bike envy, it feels like a sin! Just as well it wouldn't fit me or I would be at risk of blowing the house maintenance fund for the next decade... Have you popped it on the scales yet? I like that a lot, I also like the idea a lot Does the rear shock risk getting covered in crap? Or is there some form of protection for it? There's a sturdy piece of plastic secured with two screws that covers the opening to the shock. To take the shock out is just about as easy as is with other de...

Damn hot looking bike Gian. Love it. Really clean. I'm down your way late August/September. Would be good to meet up for some sub standard beer and cheese. A good job I was sat down when I saw the price  I've had a few bike even hit the 10000 CHF mark and never paid the full price. I don't think any bike, no matter how posh, boutique and bling, needs to cost the end consumer more than 6700 chf. Same applies for this one. On the other hand it's ...

Cheers Gabe. Truly is a shyte load of fun. More responsive and agile than most comparable long travel 29er. Not as much of a mini DH-sled as some offerings, just ideal for techy Alpine stuff. But I'll take it to some DH race tracks too, just to (try and) see how hard this bike can be pushed before i...

Endurobikepacking.
