Re: One for the HT550 connoisseur.
OBH does not open until March. Kylesku opens in February. Lochinver Pie Shop is open. On the plus side the rather unpleasant lady who dislikes most people including cyclists has moved on and the OBH are currently looking for a new manager. Not much open at all, I was up there last week, apparently i...

Ergons and gloves with gel inserts works fine for me.
I had the cork Ergons first off but found the black ones have much more flex.

Mountain Laurel Designs bivvy bag has a thin wire to hold the mesh off your face, which sounds like a good idea.
I am still saving up for the MLD bivvy bag so have no knowledge wether its any good or not !!

Re: Tour Divide 2019
So what were talking about is having a race where nobody knows who's in it, is unable to follow it, and is so secret nobody actually knows about it. Who me? No. I'm saying that there'd be no names allocated to the dots. There could still be a list of riders just that no one watching would know whic...

^ interest in anything that's an outlier in some way that grabs the imagination? 'Guilty'. And you Andy  Thats true James, the difference is all I want to do is turn up, ride hard, enjoy the route and go home, the fewer people that know about it the better, perhaps I'm a little bit odd in tha...

Re: Tour Divide 2019
Evan Deutsch is going to be in the mix, is riding well and has the ability to ride a record time, really interesting TD line up this year. Lots of discussion on Facebook about Lael being filmed by her parner and Jay Petervary signed off with "I'm out" which will be a shame if that means he...

Is the plan to arrive on Saturday 14th September and starting riding on the Sunday ?
The flight from Stansted arrives late on the 14th and no flight on the Friday, no one wants to fly on Friday the 13th !!

Lights, Garmins, Batteries, Camera all in my hand luggage inside my cycling helmet, never had a problem.
I am always disappointed if they don't pull my bag on the Xray as its got to look dodgy.

Depending on dates I am interested in riding this, if its anything like the Burrally route I rode last year, which is in a similar area, it will be ace.

Re: HT550 2019
Great write up Sean, pleased to hear your wife got the all clear. I raced an adventure race more years ago than I care to remember and enjoyed it so much went back the following year, completed it faster so it must be better right ? No, it was much better the first year and I have never raced a rout...

Re: Those SOL bivvy bag things
I rate the Sol bivvy bags, I have used the Escape version for races where I don't expect to be sleeping out in bad weather. I have slept out in the US fully clothed and a down gilet and was OK down to freezing temps. Their are three versions Lite 154g, Escape 238g and Pro 230g, the Pro has a drawstr...
