And delivered my revelate feedbags, I got stung for customs £15 making them rather expensive with the postage from the land of trump. But they are extremely well made. The only down side is that my esbit pot is just a fraction too big to fit

Re: Wheels/tyres
I've tried tape but can't get the tyres seated with a floor pump When this happens, I usually find adding more tape works. On rims with a very deep well, some laminate floor underlay beneath the tape helps - generally only required on fat bike rims though. My rims are Kris holm 47mm, not the best f...

I like the look of these
ZNEX® ØM³/u | High Power USB spotlights, outdoor, bicycle, helmet lamp, LED light,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013BNA3FY/ ... MybFZZBCX2
They also do a version which connects to their waterproof frame mounted battery, could be a versatile setup

Re: Wheels/tyres
Any easy solutions? Kind of. Don't mess about with split innertubes and stuff. Simply wrap the rim with some Gorilla tape* and fit a tubeless valve. Potentially slightly messier to change tyres than a tube bit really just as quick. *other tapes are available I've tried tape but can't get the tyres ...

Wheels/tyres
After last weekends mudfest where I ended up pushing I've been thinking about alternative tyres. Possible candidates are the maxxis minion DHR & DHF and dirt wizards. The one thing which puts me off is the faff of tubeless, in the bad old days we could just pull the tube and fit new tyre,a proce...

Another option is talkytoasters maps, based on osm cycling they are good and only £10 as a download. That said I might have a look at the garmin maps for £29 not too much as a risk.

Re: Can anyone ID this connector?
Hmm looks vaguely familiar, when I sold my big dummy the fella turned up from Germany with a electric motor ( sincerely hope your not, are you?)
He was missing one connection like this and I believe it might be a high amperage RC car type connection, might be worth looking in that direction.

1/12 completed, a 30 mile trip saw me in wychwood forest and bedded down just in time for sunset. Toasty warm and sipping Jura while watching foxes and deer wandering past. Took the road route home as thick mud made it very hard work. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/637/32603101636_340b02afb0_c.jpg Un...

Re: What's the attraction of bivvy bags
Although I use a tent I don't 'ride to camp' it's a means to an end. A 900g tent, air mattress and sleeping bag enables me to do that, sometimes I've been on the bike for 16 hours for me a tent enables me to repeat that even if the weather is horrible. I can't imagine doing something like the HT 550 ...

Thanks for the replies, I think my default mode is touring! I've come round to the light weight mode but having ridden for up to 16 days I still can't imagine doing repeated days in a bivvy.

What's the attraction of bivvy bags
Making the transition to bikepacking I've obviously looked for lighter kit, while I love my nallo2 and have spent many nights in it ( the last up dunkery beacon end of October) I've just brought a Nordisk telemark2, roomy one man/two very good friends and under a kilo. A tarp and bag must come to th...

I use this bat
PortaPow 10200 mAh SmartCharge Slim USB Battery with Built-In Cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EI5GTXY/ ... Hyb0X57409
It's been great, charging from dyno and solar panels. Unlike some I tried it doesn't discharge itself into a panel if connected on dull days

Mrs dummy is away again this weekend so bam1 is next weekend or bust, I've doubts about my sleeping bag coping with the current subzero temps so I'm hoping the post Christmas funds will stretch to some malt which adds about 10deg to any bag :-bd Not sure on the plan yet but it's either local or ride...
