Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Not just one item but some of this stuff seems good, may have a spend myself soon, http://www.subzero.co.uk/ I'm not knocking the gear, I've never had any and wouldn't know, but it's all a bit ... er ... monchrome isn't it :? Surely everyone knows red stuff gives you an extra 2.375 degrees warmth o...

Not exactly lightweight bothying gear but handy nonetheless, cheap duff bags:

Re: Bloody doctors
I just go and see the registered sports physio who's at the bottom of my road, no referral or anything. Can claim most of the cost back through some Hospital Saturday-type policy. First assessment is usually a bit more expensive and longer, think it was £35 last time. I am in the grim and gritty nor...

Re: Bloody doctors
Have you tried a (decent) sports physio? Always works for me when I've spanged myself and the GP has been, without being nasty, nay use.

Re: Exposure Lights
I just bought a Smart 1W after using their 0.5W versions for several years. Tredz seemed best value for something £10+. Bonkers bright in a garden test and handy array of flashing modes etc. Personally I'd buy a couple as I think two flashing (out of sync') lights at the rear make you more visible. ...

Re: 29ers for short arsed folk (like stuart)
I have a Singular Gryphon which is a lovely ride. Due to its unusual take on things (29er, drop bar'd, steeply sloped TT, long HT) it makes some peoples eyes bleed.
Still, I wuite like having that affect

They'd have more room if they "spooned".

Re: Carousel Designs Works
Another positive experience with Pawel here. Not used in anger yet due to all sorts of BS excuses. Great communications and good looking gear though. Got the large Double Twist and large Seat Bag. Although the bag looks similar to a Revelate (from pics, I didn't buy one thanks to the Polish equivale...

Re: PHD Summer Sale
I specifically signed on for this but new (to me) FS, bikepacking gear off the lovely Pawel and a bunch of other purchases make it highly unlikely. Struggling to justify a Tesco bag now they've gone back up to £40

Re: MKettle / Meths Experiment.
Not come across an Mkettle before. Maybe this site could do with an area / sticky threads that lists gear (and I realise what a PITA that could be to collate and maintain )? I got the largest (explorer IIRC) Ghillie Kettle for volunteer trailbuilding days a little while ago. It's a good piece o...

Re: Anyone Know About Whoopie Slings or Used Them?
Blimey they arrived on 13th which must be some kind of record from the States :o Sods law I have now found they sell them on both UKHammocks and DD Hammocks websites in the UK. D'oh! Not tried them in anger but hoping to at least muck about and see if they're up to it this weekend. Initial obs; went...

Not planning to at the mo'. Based around Leeds if that helps. Happy to tell you all about them / pics etc when they arrive. Email confirmation of posting yesterday so probably a week or two from States.

Re: Anyone Know About Whoopie Slings or Used Them?
Got to admit that up until yesterday I was struggling to work out the why and how but then found a thread on hammockforum. Given the outlay isn't huge I've ordered a set. Looks like I'd better do a write up in the Queen's english then ;) They also appear to be pretty easy to DIY but I can be a right...

Anyone Know About Whoopie Slings or Used Them?
Got a Hennessy Expedition Asym and keep coming across mention of these slings ( http://www.whoopieslings.com/ ) and the "marlin spike" hitch. Having watched a few youtube vids (Shugs' being highly entertaining ) and read stuff on HammockForum I think I get it. Just wondering if anyone...
