Re: When?????
I'm on Skye. There's plenty of tents next to cars in lay-bys. No sign of them being moved on so looks like it's a free for all.

BBC reporting that wild camping is banned still in Scotland as numbers can't be managed.
Good luck with that.

Workshop day with my 15 year old lass. She found a design for a fire pit and once I demoed the grinder and welder and she tied her hair back she was off! https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Online-sharing/i-NzqrbJM/0/c40deaa2/M/20200624_143823-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Online-sharing/i-nnb...

Re: When?????
My neighbours now have their family up from London. That's the daughter, her husband and two kids up to visit the grandparents in the west of Scotland. This is a joke now. It's ignored, flaunted and the daily update is a party political broadcast. We can't go more than 5 miles to exercise but school...

All night ride sounds like an interesting alternative and one where stopping for an hour or two to brew up and oggle the stars might be almost as therapeutic, IMO. HYOH, as they say 😎 That's a great idea. There's a good moon just now and I've never ridden by moon light. I know just the spot to aim ...

I'm just desperate to get away from it all. Work's been really hard and I need some time away skulking overnight in the wilds. If I break the rules/guidelines/law it'll have implications at work if folk want to make it hard for me. Is it really 6th July-ish before I can spend a night away from home ...

I've just the standard take my savings and bike and don't stop until I'm either too skint or too old. Simplicity.

My fifteen year old daughter wants to do the John Muir way with me. I just need to keep it to 30 miles a day, go at her pace and not put her off! I was going to go on the walking route but the cycle route will get more comfy for her. It's amazing how lock down can change perspective on what a holida...

I got an Alpkit down Cloud Cover quilt and sewed a channel down each side and added elastic. Re: Hey Shaf (and any others on the front line)
Thanks but remember I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants. Someone got out of bed for me to fuel up in early hours this morning. My microwave meal was on the shelf in the coop and the staff had the store open to sell it to me. Someone got the power back on in the station so I could cook it. S...

Re: Hey Shaf (and any others on the front line)
All good in my neck of woods. Lockdown looks to have been very effective. Bit of concern as to where our usual work has gone though. Plenty of PPE on our ambulances and staff absences still being covered. Yes it's tough, every job is more complicated now but we're still smiling.
