You can get a converter on Amazon for use with Garmin mounts, I have one, there was a thread and link on here somewhereNot the mounts you'd use with a Garmin bike gps - 500, 1000 etc. The erred mounts are larger and the device slides in, rather than twists.

Re: The tyre amnesty thread - please join!
Which tyre was is pls? A pair of rocket Ron's, there were bought on the basis of "they won't last five minutes around here" so my risk, soft sidewalls and my heft mean they can burp a little on the rear and then start to get worse quickly as the sidewalls are very flexy, have a cut right ...

Re: The tyre amnesty thread - please join!
Let me know, depends on condition, price etc pm some photoshave 3 Chronicles now. Might be able to surrender one or two
I'm still running one of the other tyres you sold me, unfortunately the side walls didn't cope on the rear. What's the side wall like on the chronicles?

I'm sure it willNot sure that gets Stuart's approval
BB200/300 are not normal events (helps if you get that before Strata Florida in the dark), Other events need to have their own vibe as do Stu's other ones
Looking forward to blue skies and dusty trails.......

Re: Wiggle goes into administration
Islabikes is a real shame, i've not got one yet, but was thinking about it for my eldest. They really have shaped the kids bike market. It's also to their credit that they're winding down the business with no creditors, and will honour warranties. Shame for the staff of all involved of course. Did ...

Extra points for black pudding, lost them however with the use of generic brown sauce rather than HP....very enjoyable breakfast with a view instead!

Re: BB200 - a few thoughts.
Not really on topic at this point, but that's not how it works. I go all night because I can't sleep (was the same on the BB300 as the BB200). That doesn't mean I'm maintaining anything like the pace I could do if I'd have been able to sleep though I get the sleep helps you go faster, however I was...

Re: BB200 - a few thoughts.
That way being, that the BB200 is too bloody hard. Yes Stu, you should ease it up and never have one as difficult as the 2014 and 2023 versions ever again. Some of us are trying to earn a black badge, so please have a heart. Next time you plan a route hopefully you include us (we know who we are, d...

Re: BB200 - a few thoughts.
someone told me that, in certain circles Bear Bones is viewed as being ‘less than inclusive’ And if you don't understand what they are referring to you can twist yourself in knots trying to work out what the problem is. That's if there is even a problem beyond someone influential in the out group l...

Re: BB200 - a few thoughts.
The point I'm getting at is that if you're a guy like me and you're doing something that you want to be inclusive you need to be pro-active about it. You need to be show that the space you're creating is welcoming, and some other spaces will be far more comfortable for some people. You mean manspla...

Re: BB200 - a few thoughts.
I'm quite happy with where you are on this, I did well last year and it may have lulled me into a false sense of security for this year where I was better prepared, equipped and fitter. I pulled the plug initially with bedding down and then 20 or so miles later due in part to other factors, optimist...

Re: BB200 2023
Unless you are fast, something like a 21hr pace, or bivy then you won't get any resupply options. There is an early shop, they do coffee as well I think to make the shops/ garage you will need to be faster than 21 hour, you get an extra hour with the takeaway If you are slower than that you'll be d...

Re: BB200 2023
There was a bit of discussion on Sunday afternoon at the community centre about this. There's a definite feeling that there's a large number who've come to bikepacking through the bike industry's mode of using it to sell stuff. I suspect many of those that Stu talks about would be expecting somethi...
