Re: Gravel Bike Rim Recommendations Please!

Interesting comments re the pacentis. I've experienced similar problems with kinlin rims and am keen to avoid a repeat. I'm quite heavy (14 stone) and pretty unforgiving on kit, so it sounds as though the Wtb may be a better bet. Thanks for the open pro suggestion, but I lost faith with them a few y...

Re: Gravel Bike Rim Recommendations Please!

Thanks folks - I really appreciate the help. swaying towards the pacenti at the mo. Would probably prefer the sl25 over the cl25 (based on reviews), but px only have them in a 28 and they're silly money elsewhere.

Nice one - that's exactly the kind of thing I'll look to upgrade to, assuming I can ditch the panniers...

Gravel Bike Rim Recommendations Please!

Apologies if this has already been done to death - a superficial search didn't turn anything up... I'm after a pair of cheapish 700c/29er tubeless ready rims to build into a set of sturdy wheels for my gravel/crosser thing. I'm hoping to do a bit of off road lightweight touring/bikepacking on it, an...

Re: Wanted - seatpack, 13 litre or similar

Looks like another good option, but I think I'm going to give the alpkit one a go. That way, I can always use it as the drybag in a proper holster if I decide to go down that route.

Wanted - seatpack, 13 litre or similar

I'm looking to move away from panniers and try a seatpack for a forthcoming trip, but reluctant to drop 80 quid plus on something I may not get on with. if anyone has anything large (13 litres or so) that is surplus to requirements, please give me a shout.

I'll take the drybag if you fancy selling it on its own?

I'm also after a wildcat lion if there are any left over once the OP has taken his pick.

That's a good looking set up - lots of room for stuff on bars.

Re: Bar roll set up with normal road drops

The salsa looks very nice, but a bit out of my price range. Might be able to stretch to a wildcat lion though.... Huge thanks for all the input - saved me from making a potentially costly mistake.

Re: Bar roll set up with normal road drops

Thanks all - that's great advice. Are the flared drops manufactured to address this issue, or is it more of a comfort thing? I've ridden ordinary drops for years and done lots of long distance stuff, so am pretty wedded to them, plus I don't think I'm quite ready for the hipster look they conjure in...

Re: Bar roll set up with normal road drops

Thanks folks. A visit to Alpkit would be nice, but unlikely as I'm on the south coast. I'll try strapping a bag on without harness and the free-standing harness is a good shout

Bar roll set up with normal road drops

Morning all. I am very much a newcomer to both the forum and the world of bikepacking, so apologies if my questions have already been done to death elsewhere and evaded my rudimentary Google skills. I'm looking to do a bit of wild camping on the bike with the kids and am looking at luggage options. ...
