Re: King Alfreds Way.

Trob6. Sounds like you. How long did it take to get to qecp? I had a wild day getting from Reading to Marlborough then it improved from there. Wales as ever was sublime. Well we didn't get there that night! Rode until it was nearly dark that day and camped in some woods, up early and was there in a...

Re: King Alfreds Way.

I used the Farnham to Reading section to link the NDW with the Kennet and Avon canal last week. Didn't enjoy the route much. It was really just a road ride with short sections of boggy off road to clag up the drivetrain and slow you to a crawl. Granted it was a horrendous wet weekend but the NDW wa...

Re: Sonder Frontier size help

Hello

My wife is 5 foot 3 and has a small frame and a friend of ours is 5 foot 6 and the small was much too small so she got a medium frame and it fits her really well, its got 29er wheels but not full mudguards and toe overlap doesn't seem to be a problem on either bike.

Re: New Alpkit Tents

I received one today also for my wife, we put it up in the garden for a test, clipped the inner to the outer so can pitch as one, the poles at the end were a real sod to fit, proper tight. Took a few minutes to blow up but realized you can unscrew the release valve and blow it up with your mouth in ...

Pleased you've warmed up :-bd It looked properly horrible in the pictures. How was the Outdry jacket? Did it keep the water out? Looking at your pictures reminded me I need a better jacket. I can honestly say that jacket saved me. I've just checked I was rained, sleeted and snowed on for over 9 hou...

Re: Wet Gear Query

Anyone know any deals on the Columbia Outdry?

I need a new jacket as mine current one is like a sieve and I also need to get one for more my wife so double spendy.

Columbia website have them at £250 so If I could save a bit that would help.

Thanks

Re: multi day trip. self sufficient or local services ?

I've done it twice and took a stove both times, good for coffee when its late/early and I took porridge for the mornings.

I took food for the first day and a bit by which time I was at York to resupply and just winged it from there.

Well I got the adaptor, cooled one warmed one and it works! I only went to 200 grams with the small canister though but I think that's plenty so thanks John and a few less canisters from now on to recycle.

Re: Etrex Stem Mount

Well I'm sorry to say that the stem mount is not currently up to the job, works fine if your on the road but it broke off road, you can see the weave inside the break and its a bit like an Aero chocolate bar. I will speak to my mate that made it and see what he says and maybe he can make it differen...

Thanks

Etrex Stem Mount

I needed an Etrex mount for my wife's bike and there is not room on the bars for the usual slidey ebay ones so that left the stem. I know Garmin do quarter turn mounts on some of there gps units but not the Etrex but found a file on the interwebs for a 3d printed one and all you have to do is buy th...

My friend is a sail maker and has just started up Spokeduk , they make all sorts of bikepacking bags and the website has just gone live.

We have been testing all the bags for the last couple of years they are pretty bombproof.

Re: Lock-down projects

It was quite cheap to insulate with 50mm polystyrene and warms up pretty quick with the electric oil fired radiator, it will make an excellent additional bike workshop if he ever moves out
