I'm riding the TD, flying out on the 6th June, starting on the 10th. Looks like the Gila is completely closed, with reroutes being published very soon. Plus 2 other closures either happened or imminent. Us late snow at the northern end on some passes. There's around 6 UK people riding who I am aware...

I rode to Ludlow and back with a bivvy stop on the way in some woods outside Kinlet. 6 jars of chilli jam from the Ludlow food centre and the OH is quite happy.... Nice little bivvy spot in a grassy clearing, only disturbed by barking deer and some rustling in the undergrowth at 4am. The return trip...

Tell you what Stu, if the shopper hasn't sold by the BB200, I'll volunteer to ride it round. It might give it the reputation it deserves...

I did on a rigid mtb, starting up by Mickleton, and the bike was fine. There's some tough climbs near Bath, and lots of gravel and road, but nothing too technical. I'd worry less about the bike and more about the legs.....

I have a garmin vivoactive that does steps, heart rate and stuff. Probably 100 times more stuff than I use. Picked it up for £125 - wouldn't pay the full 250 for it though

It's now cancelled anyway (unfortunately). Too much up front cost and insufficient up front entries mean it's too financially risky.

Nice one Bob. It is a hard route that's for sure, and great meeting Alan G. The wind was hard on the Ridgeway down South, so in the Lakes it must have been brutal. But you finished which is the main thing (safely!)

A field just outside Reading got me my April bivvy, as part of King Alfred's Way. Or another grassy bit just off Salisbury Plain for my 2nd bivvy this month. That's 4/4 so far.

Swallows here now - a couple arrived last week apparently, but I've only just seen them.

And the blackbirds nesting in our carport now have chick's.

It's unacceptable behaviour, but Snowdon (is it now Yr Wyddfa?) is sacrificed to the masses. This leaves the rest of the region to be enjoyed......

Thinking about it, but after the Tour Divide I might have had enough of sitting on a saddle for a while, so am seeing how I feel....
