I've got half an eye on the Polestar, be interested to hear reviews from BBers if/when they get theirs, also interested if BB carbon poles will become available for it

Re: Bells and alerters: your favourite (gone to poll)
I live in canal towpath country, I find that giving a nice “excuse me” from about 50m back is the best.... However I did have one numpty last week telling me that I should have a bell, his already puce face went a deeper shade of gammon when I pointed out that as he hadn’t heard me saying, then shou...

Re: Converting an old Ti HT to a gravelwanger
Thanks for that. I won’t be using it for anything gnarr, genuine gravel (I’m in the middle of canal towpath country) and country lanes with an eye on some longer distance tarmac biased touring in the future. I just want two bikes, anything off-road then I have my Fargo, and for mostly road/gravel I’...

Converting an old Ti HT to a gravelwanger
I’ve been pondering a Sonder Camino Ti or something similar, but find it hard to justify buying another bike when I have 2 MTBs sitting unused and one CX that’s resigned to turbo trainer duties, so I’ve been thinking about condensing those 3 bikes into one. I’ve just dusted off my Ti hardtail, it’s ...

Re: (Vegetarian) Quality Dehydrated meals: what options might I have missed?
Just posting in this thread so I can refer back to it.
I’m a veggie but also have an intolerance to peppers so rules out quite a lot of dehydrated meals and other packeted goods, I’m also not keen that a lot of manufacturers use palm oil in their meals

Re: Anyone else only eat once a day?
Twice a day here. I can never eat first thing in the morning, I'm always nauseous in the morning and never get any appeitie until about noon. When I get home from work I usually have a big bowl of porridge then an evening meal later on.

Lots of Columbia stuff on SP. However all the waterproof jackets are ‘omni-tech’ how does that compare to the BB’s favourite outdry?

Re: Ever built a no expense spared bike?
Yup. 15 years ago I built up a Santa Cruz Blur LT with full XTR, Chris King hubs + headset, Hope brakes, Easton Carbon bars, Thomson bits and Pace (briefly) and DT Swiss forks. Must’ve spent £6k-ish on it, it was my dream bike. It’s now sat in my parents garage, not ridden it for 6 years, it’s proba...

No, not at all, just that having this 'promoted' as part of the UK's Number 1 Bikepacking site* may be more impactful than a group of randoms trying to do it! *This may not actually be true, but I am sure the BearBones is almost certainly in the top 63 Bikepacking sites in the UK! Most people would...

Re: Remember when we were discussing ...
Agree with Colin about riding from centre of towns/cities, choosing my local city, Brum, you can be on the canals and into countryside within a few miles, or you could choose urban parks and be there in less time. As for bikes, perhaps speak to the local police and try and get any seized bikes befor...

Nearly laughed up a lung the first time I watched it, also goes by the UK title of ‘Grimsby’Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:44 pm I don't do much telly but I recommend 'Brothers Grimsby'. It's a brit comedy with a slighty dark or near to the knuckle edge to it.
