Re: BB200 2020

Do any of those mess with the route? I know a few sites try and tweak the track to make it match nearby roads / footpaths etc. Probably not a great idea for one of Stu's monstrosities (or maybe it is!). Komoot (and I think Garmin?) gave me the option to either stick to the file, or use known ways (...

Re: BB200 2020

Planning tip - if you do it in Komoot, you get less climbing (4,980m) than either RWGPS (4,991m), Garmin (5,480m) or Bikehike (5,505m :o ).

Re: Winter gravel

I'd say WTB Resolutes fulfill your criteria for B, C and D.
The only downside I've found has been the sidewalls (though I've subjected them to some pretty serious underbiking). Not tried them yet, but the new casings should help with point A, and also tick off E.

I wasn't sure of ton's age, so thought it best not to refer to him as old or new.

(*) Don't use yfi? OK then, it's better than that because Stu must be measuring in fathoms - it's almost exactly 3 thereof.
Um, 4 fathoms?
Or is this yet another situation where Imperial measurements come in a variety of "standards"?

Re: Tubeless Repair Kit

I've always found my problem to be getting the worm into the stabby thing. Anyone got any top tips for that? Having not got on with cheap stabby things, I got the cheapest Dynaplugs tool. While the tool works fine, the plugs don't seem to like high pressure much (35 psi and up), which can be limitin...

Re: First timer’s packing list

Usual stuff you'd take for a bike ride. Tools, tube, pump, food and drink, spare clothing (consider you'll cool down a fair bit when you stop). Other than that, it sounds like you have "the essentials" sorted. Everything else will be nice to have, and will fall into the category of making ...

Techno, thanks for the Bothy Life link! While she doesn't fancy dossing on the floor in a sleeping bag, Mrs Landslide could definitely see the attraction of holing up miles from anyone.

Looks like a pretty reliable method of attachment, even on bag straps. Unlikely we'd hear any complaints of folk having discovered their balls had dropped mid-ride.

Dunno mate. I went gravel biking yesterday, but ended up drinking a nice Austrian white, followed by an Italian rose frizzante.

There's just been Brother in the Wild, and there were plenty of Charlie the Bikemonger events in/around Purbeck, might be worth investigating the routes?
