Foldable mug and matching bowl arrived today, in a 'lose me not' orange. No problem at all with drinking from it, but how the hell do you dangle it off the saddle :???:

Lift offer - Carlisle to Fort Augustus, this Sunday

I'm heading up to Fort Augustus for 5-6 days bike packing this Sunday. Will be leaving Keswick early afternoon, passing Penrith, Carlisle and many points north. If anyone fancies a lift and sharing some fuel costs, PM me. In a van, with room for 2 more persons+bikes.

That'll be the 'opinion dividing' Warnscale trail  It was the first ride I did on my first ever full sus bike. Needless to say, resulted in an over the bars and knackered 'V' brake. Always good to get the first battles scars in early :| Jesus, people actually ride down that?! It felt like an i...

Sorry, wasn't doubting your endeavour, just noticed a sensible approach to not riding until silly o'clock.

Seems to do the job.
How does it attach to the stem - does it need an 'out front' mount or something?

The wooden hut to the side has a 4 person thunderbox
Is this a euphemism for toilets, or somewhere to stay safe in electrical storms?

Most smart watches will do heart rate, or you can get ones that don't sync to your phone. I see the village hall is sold and to be demolished to build a house. I wonder if the conveyancing search threw up the reality of stinking wheeled tramps passing at all hours in early summer. 😂🤢

Parking update: I rang Real Food Cafe, who said the 'usual' car park was managed by TJ's Diner next door (which is the old Tourist Info?). They were pretty sure TJ's would say no if asked. I rang the Green Welly Stop office who reckoned the car park wasn't owned by TJ's and it would be OK to park, s...

Re: Lakeland 200

I’ve got just six to do but they are spread out: three in Borrowdale; one by Thirlmere; one above Grassmere and one above Dunnerdale I decided in October to try and do them all before my birthday in mid July (repeating or first time). New work may get in the way now though. I have a mate who does t...

Might give it a whirl when I'm down that way at the end of May. Re: The post man's been ...

I think I'l be padding the mount with something (probably some foam wrapped in inner tube) as it's a bit lacking in girth and leaves only half of the velcro on the Wildcat harness overlapping. To be fair, it's like that on any normal seatpost, but I fear the nicely machined edge of the mount might s...

Two monster Hope brake disks for the fat bike. The rear started making horrible noises (shimano ice tec) and when I looked it was waffer thin. The stainless steel had worn completely through on one side and the pads were busy chewing their way through the alloy bit. This may well have contributed t...

In 2014 an 15 it was 565 miles.... I KNEW IT..... The ride from Loch Ba felt eeeeeennnnnnddddddlllllleeeeeesssss. And very cold at 5am. If it comes off, this will be my first return since then (though I did the WHW last year). Can't wait (although I should, as I've done 100 miles in 6 weekss......)
