Re: what wide 29er rim for a stooge mk3?
29x2.4 front and 2.2 rear in the winter slop 29x2.25 both ends dry winter and summer. Got Rebas on the front that a 2.4 tyre clears easily. I wouldn't want to go any larger on the rear. Stooge is the short stay version very similar to the Mk3. I think I ran larger tyres on 650b rims on a similar fr...

Re: what wide 29er rim for a stooge mk3?
is the mk3 QR rear? I have a surly rabbit hole 50mm wide x 29 rear wheel you can borrow to test with if you like? Its an old hope hub though that can't be converted from QR and will need a tyre fitting Thanks Rob. Yeah, it's a 135mm back end so That'll be worth trying before I build the wheels up. ...

Re: what wide 29er rim?
I’m a huge fan of the halo vapour 35’s They do a 50mm one too. Thanks, the kinlin and the vapour are the same rim I think. I think 50mm might be too wide unfortunately. What's the narrowest tyre that'll run on 50mm rim? My stooge has clearance for 27.5 x 2.8 or 3" I think a 29x2.6" on a 5...

Then again, maybe igniting them with the contents still in position might result in some sort of tasty bikepackers' fondue? You could even top the fondue with some elvers. Yes, or marmite cheddar. Plus dry cured meats. Pork pies. Salt and vinegar crisps. Flapjacks, fig rolls. Pub meal, cafe stop and more. I'm a greedy feck!

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
What don't you like about the chain routing? High pivot with an idler cog seems to be highly thought of by folk designing rear suspension systems, as they prevent the chain tension affecting the suspension performance (and vice versa). It looks vulnerable to me. More exposed to mud and prone to dra...
