Re: Home Made Bio-Fuel.
Been there! Done that! 50 years ago! We didn't waste any as fuel. Ours was made with sugar and water and fermented with bread yeast in a 9 gallon carboy (like people make a bottle garden in). After two weeks it went into our still made from a converted fire extinguisher and a copper coil in a ...

Re: Todays ride
No pictures 'coz it was only a quick nip into town to get some bits, but the sun was shining and not too much wind, so I thought I'd take a longer road home to make the most of it. My route took me through a local(-ish) park. This reminded me of the last time I'd ridden through there, around ...

I like Viewranger too. Use it on everything I need to plot. I can buy OS maps for the areas I need. they're not too dear - well the 1:50k aren't anyway - and they're available off line.

Llyn Tegid, Bala. My first attempt at cycle camping. Never done it before. Re: Cabin Fever 2020
Y' see, I'd love to try something like this, but I know I never will. That's why I'll always be like a frog at the farriers; holding my foot up for a shoe but can't have one 'coz I'm not a horse - even though I think I am  Why not try it? Here's my film from last weekend in Snowdonia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL7O-qVBH8M Enjoy! That's a lovely video, and no mistake. I'm full of admiration for anyone who has the patience to set up the shots and then combine/edit them to make something that tells a story in just a few minutes. ...

Halva has got to be worth a try. I love it. Get it at your local Polish shop, though it'll be written in Polish - chalwa. Chalwa Krolewska (Royal) has the fancier packaging but I go for the budget wersion(see what I did there? - "W"s are pronounced "V" in Polish) instead. It's lo...

Re: Stats for the year (that was)
I set myself a target to cycle at least 50 miles per week. Dunnit! Ha! Some weeks I've done more and a few weeks I've doubled it. I also wanted to use the bike for more trips where in the past I'd have used the car, eg to the shop or to visit my mum in the care home. I've done quite well at that too...

Ive just gone through the annual "I want to cancel my subscription " charade. We went through the "We can offer you a discount" thing again. New price is £102 inc tax. It's still a lot, but for 12 BAMs it's less than a fiver per day. My Lady says it's worth it and who am I to arg...

By prior arrangement the big bloke in the red get-up didn't visit the Towers Same here. Me and Her decided a few years ago not to buy presents for each other. Instead, we give a donation to the Sally Army. Let's face it, we can get any thing we want at any time (within reason), so no need to wait f...

Nah - not a hoof-beat or bugle was heard. Unusually, neither was an owl-hoot or pheasant or pigeon crashing about in the treetops which is what I usually get bivvying in the woods.
