Re: wtd: left hand (front) double/triple friction thumb shifter
I've got a set of old school Deore thumbies, think they were 7speed? I think the right hand indexing was a bit gritty but the left hand was okay. I'll dig them out of the spares box and let you know if you're interested?

Plus rims for sale - 27.5/29 and Jones front wheel
I've got some rims and a wheel I need to clear out. First is a pair of ARC45 29er rims, one of which is laced to a Planet X El Guapo 135x9mm front disc spaced hub so would work well for a Jones 29er frameset. If no one wants the wheel then I can unlace it and sell both rims as a pair. Both rims have...

Re: jones mudguards
With my truss fork I used a mudhugger FRX (I think it is the FRX) but I drilled some extra holes to zip tie it onto the front part of the truss. Very solid that way

Re: Surly 'Corner Bar' - what do we think???
Great idea, can't see the cables being any more of an issue than with backswept bars like Jones H-bars but probably worse than flat bars.
An aluminium version would be nice because these weigh a fair bit.

Re: 175mm 30t narrow-wide cranks
All sorts! Stems, spd pedals, a Dawes Galaxy, a Graham Weigh SS road bike, a carradice super c saddlebag and bagman, slx 10spd shifter, road front and rear mechs... plenty of other bits I will eventually get around to listing! Is there anything in particular you are after?

Re: WTD: Road frameset 56cm
I think that at 58cm, it'll be a bit big for me, especially with this being a frame with very race-oriented geometry. Otherwise it would have been spot-on for me. Thanks anyway. Actually I took a look and it doesn't say 58cm on the frame it just says L, I'm 5'11 and it always felt like it fit me bu...

Re: Crankset for a single speed - help needed
Can I ask why you want to run a 1/8" chain? They will fit on pretty much all chainrings because they are wider but they may flop around a bit because they are a bit too wide. If it's about strength then a decent 3/32" single speed chain should be plenty strong enough. As Lazarus said you w...

Re: WTD: Road frameset 56cm
I have a Focus Cayo full carbon frame and fork in 58cm that I need to clear out of the shed. It seems solid to me although has a bit of a scratch on the top tube, mostly looks like its just the clearcoat but I'm cautious with these things. I would still ride it no problem though. I'd sell it for £60...

Re: Jones truss fork on another bike ?
I think the Genesis Vagabond stock fork is not far off the Jones Truss (29er/swb) so maybe could be swapped. I think the main issue would be the headtube length, would make a cool monstercrosser though.

I have a Super C saddle bag and bagman qr, both fitted but unused as I realised that the bag is bigger than I can fit on my bike. Let me know if you're interested in either.

135mm SS wheel and 27.5+ rims
As part of a big clearout I need to shift some bits. First is this WTB laserdisc rim on wtb single duty hub. 135mm qr spacing - originally came with bolts but I don't think the threads are great so I have been using a qr instead, which I can include along with the bolts. The threads could be fixed i...

Anyone good with trigger shifters?
The issue is with the shifter lever on an XTR SL-M980 10 speed shifter. I bought one second hand and there is a lot of play in the lever that shifts into easier gears. The lever can be wobbled up and down by at least 10mm. I'm hoping I can tighten something to sort this out because the lever feels w...

Re: Son hubs??
All dynamo hubs will feel sort of lumpy as you spin the axle in your hands, it's the magnets creating that resistance. My SON hub felt that way when I got it new. Of course you may have an issue with your bearings but it's unlikely with such a new hub and SON hubs are good. Apparently the wheel shou...

Re: Saddles; Any Brooks users?
I’ve started looking at other makes of saddle but haven’t found anything suitable for my arse yet. I have some very specific requirements due to a previous hamstring injury. I have seen that Selle Anatomica are making a similar rubber saddle, whether it suffers from the same issue as the C17 will r...

Re: Saddles; Any Brooks users?
I've had a b17 on my touring bike for a long time, really comfy after breaking it in but only after I got a seatpost with a lot of layback, the rails wouldn't let it go back far enough otherwise. I'm not sure that I would use it offroad, too much mud getting flung at it and my saddle did go mouldy j...

Evo stik is what I have used to glue sleeping mat into kayaks as padding, it gets wet and a lot of abuse and normally stays put.
