I run a 2.4 Conti X King on the front and a 2.2 X King on the back of my Fortitude... Great tyres. See no reason to change them...

Re: Cold weather on the way - What's on your hands?

After several rides when I really struggles after losing he feeling in my hands, I now ear fleecy liners under thicker wind/water proof gloves. Still not perfect, but loads better. I have also tried my neoprene gloves, that I used to use for kayaking. They feel like they keep your hands warm, even w...

A pair of Sealskinz socks under normal Shimano SPD shoes.... The socks seem to do a pretty good job of keeping some level of warmth, even when you have inevitably gone in water over the top of them!

BB200 on a CX bike?

I have a Genesis Fortitude and a Croix De Fer. I have completed the BB200 twice on the Fortitude. It is comfortable, capable and copes with everything I throw at it. I just wondered if anyone has ever attempted the BB200 on a cross (or similar style) bike? I have to add that having taken part in las...

Re: How's your BB200 prep' going?

I also use a Joystick. Single bar mounted Mark 6 in 2013 running in lowest mode. Lasted no problem. Helmet mounted Mark 6 and bar mounted Mark 9 in 2014 running in lowest setting. Upping them when required. Again both lasted no problem. Good job to as I had to use them again on Sunday evening as I t...

Big Peaks in Ashburton reckon there are no Longtitude frames in stock anywhere at the moment... Though they told me in mid April that another batch were due to get to the UK in October, due to the high demand....

Very enjoyable Ian.

I had intended to take more pictures and possibly video this year, but I always get distracted by the riding...

Love your new Shand too... Fond memories of watching rallying in the 70's and 80's. Brilliant idea for the colour scheme.

Re: sleeping bag dilemmas

The only "heavy" bag I have is my Buffalo 4 season. It is lovely and warm, but weighs a ton a does not pack small at all, so it's the lightweight bag again for me. Though I think I might nip down town at lunchtime and get a silk bag liner...

Saw one of the new Stache bikes in the flesh at BigPeaks, Ashburton in Devon on Sunday. I was riding the Devon Dirt ride which is based out of Ashburton. They did reckon it was the first one in the country. It looks nice, and pretty light too. I have to say it certainly encouraged me to look at 29+ ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2015

4/3. Brixham Bivvy. 27 mile round trip. Weather forecast was reasonable, with little or no rain overnight, so took the plunge, left the tarp at home and set out just before 9pm on Saturday night. 1.5 hrs later, after a monster push up from Mansands beach on the South West Coast Path, found a nice fl...
