Re: Glen Feshie by e-bike

Enjoyed that, fair play to those lasses. They're right too - it might be calmer than the other side of the inner loop but balls to taking an ebike down that stretch.

Re: Steel 29er choices

Also not completely relevant because of boost spacing and mildly different geo, but I am absolutely besotted with this frame. 68deg head angle, tiny chainstay length, looks like SO much fun. Big soft spot for Kona too. https://bikerumor-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Kona...

Re: Rims

WTB KOM sounds like the right choice to me Mike. Light and pretty much bombproof in my experience. i29 width would be lovely with the 2.4", otherwise there's a range of smaller widths.

Think KP have some fitted to bikes in the shop.

Re: Ruined Guts... How Long?

I had Welsh Sheep Sh!t Guts (cryptosporidium?) a couple of weeks ago. Passed through in about 36 hours so sounds like you've got something more persistent parasite-esque.

As someone else said you should knock the Immodium on the head - it should only be used for short-term relief.

Re: Changing tyre woes

They do sit very tight tbf.

I lay the wheel down flat, stand on the tyre, with the insteps of both feet about a third of the circumference apart, then grip the wheel by as many spokes as I can get my fingers round and pull it upwards. Works every time.

Re: BB200: Moving time VS elapsed time

22:25 elapsed, 18:01 moving, 11.0km/h ave speed (Strava)

4hrs 20min stopped time sounds about right for a couple of power naps, pint at The Bluebell, butty and drinks at the petrol station and all the gates. I usually faff a lot on rides and expected I would have wated a lot more time than that.

Re: BB Waterproofs

I wore an Outdry Ex Light Shell with a merino t-shirt underneath. Added a long-sleeve merino base layer once it got dark and was then too warm if anything. T-shirt and baselayer stayed dry all ride though so a big thumbs up for the jacket. :-bd

Re: BB200 planning

Had a pinprick hole in the rear tyre's sidewall that I haven't been able to get to seal all week. Couldn't figure it out. Decided enough was enough tonight and was taking it off to swap it when I noticed an unusual bit of tread that turned out to be this https://i.imgur.com/0hGPWZQ.jpg <facepalm>
