Re: Cane Creek Thudbuster ST or Titanium Seatpost?
Had it just under a year, it’s been great. No real change in seat height it just takes the edge off ( it’s only 20mm max travel)

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Big list of jobs completed on the Fargo this weekend :-bd First job was fit the Curve Walmer bars, at 55cm on the drops they are considerably wider than the woodchipers they have replaced, While it was off i took the opportunity to fit some SON coax connectors to my sinewave beacon light/charger, I'...

Diesel? More like the terminator, chunk, chunk, chunk, no change in cadence or perceived effort despite gradient, only got worse with the beta blockers and Ebike, glad that nonsense is over

I’ve an eesilk mini thudbuster on the Fargo, 295g and 20mm if travel which makes a surprising difference to comfort.

Re: New water bottles
A recycled mineral water bottle is a good choice, sports cap keeps crud out and weighs sod all :-bd Crap for boiling water though. You'd be surprised  https://bearbonesbikepacking.blogspot.com/2014/09/plastic-fantastic-lighter-than-ti.html I am indeed, if you wanted to take the ultralight dir...

Re: Devon bikepacking/wild camp
Hi Keith, I might be up for a ride. I’m currently sat in kings nympton ( nr South Molton) but normal residence is Oxfordshire. Not really ridden much in south Devon, hopefully it’s slightly less brutal than the north. Realistically I’d be looking at late February/ early March but I’m always keen for...

I use a 400ml ti mug for that which lives in the same stem cell which the bottle occupies, the added bonus is that it makes bottle extraction easier, the mug lid is at t...

Re: Ethical and Environmental Options
I’ve always had in interest in environmental issues, I read ‘Hot House Earth’ way back in 1990 and completed 2 years of an environmental science degree. My take on it is buy the best quality item you can and research it well, for instance a carridice saddle bag will still be around after you are gon...

Nice one! It’s a special moment that first century :-bd Mine was on my Jogle, Fort Augustus and over Ranoch moor, rolled into Tarbet with 99.2 on the clock and had to cycle up and down a side road  I recently read Dave Barter’s ‘The Year’ and it inspired me to clock another century, these guys ...

Extreme road rage
Today I had one of the worst example of cyclist hate I’ve experience to date. Cycling out from Morton-in-marsh on the A429 I suddenly had a car leaning on the horn behind me, at the time I was roughly two feet from the curb and very well lit. The driver then executed a ‘punishment pass’ at a distanc...

Re: Go on then, what did you get?
Well... a set of curve Walmer bars at 550 width, a pair of paramo trousers which are typically paramo, ie during today’s 5 hour ride in the pissing rain, were comfortable yet not completely dry. It’s a paramo thing :-bd Of course these gifts were from myself, I also got......socks, smelly stuff and ...

I pressed a button on my phone with stuff in front of it... I liked the stuff. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49218393996_b20a39cf48_z.jpg IMG_20191214_161013_617 by Escape Goat , on Flickr At the risk of erasing any slight chance I had, you really should enter that for the photo comp :-bd
