What a time by Aidan 8-) - averaging over 13km/h for that length of time.. Wow
Jack is still going strong too, after what looked like an overnight in a bothy in Glen Feshie. He was back on the trail before 0600 I think and looks to be going for a finish today!

Re: Cairngorms Loop this weekend
Blimey - you go for your dinner and he's ridden down Glen Derry and Glen Lui and looks like he's turned right at the Linn of Dee. I'm interested to see how far he gets tonight? Ian, hope you are feeling a bit better now - I had a bad run of kiddy induced stuff before M'n'B and that ride was just kil...

Re: Cairngorms Loop this weekend
Jack seems to be going great guns; past Loch Avon and into the Lairig an Laoigh.... as you say Ian, well past the 100km mark in 8.5 hours. How come you weren't riding this weekend, Ian? I know you'd mentioned loosing your mojo recently.... it must have got bad :( Would be good to have everyone with ...

Good luck to everyone riding this weekend..... Looking forward to the photos and stories!

Anyone carrying a Spot that we can watch?
Cheers, Mark

One on it's way - thanks for the feedback and info Stu...

Blimey - good price..... You made me panic there for a second Stu thinking I'd gone for the wrong alternative to the Akto (on it's way from Germany I think right now).
Looking at the weight of this it's similar to the Akto with bug net inner but this looks like a great price!

Re: Bluring the line ...
Hi Stu, have you given this a good field test yet.... any more feedback as I'm sorely tempted for the summer (when that day arrives in late May).
Thanks for the pointer on the pole too. I see something good/similar on the German site too.
Cheers. Mark

Re: Communal Campfire Cooking....
I know what you mean slugwash - some of the sea kayaking trips I've been on have involved really big tarps and stoves/BBQs/chairs and the occasional massive big driftwood fire (to be obliterated by the next big tide) and these have been some very special evenings. The joys of the water and tides bea...

DNF - what a bugger! Hope you are OK and the damage isn't too bad.... healing vibes! I was expecting the same this afternoon on a road ride but I was very surprised by everyone's patience and politeness except some nobbers in a 4x4 (a bit close but not as near as your encounter by the sounds of thin...

I like the concept - I have been using an Akto with the completely mesh inner... outer open in anything other than rai...

Cheers Stu - did this come from that German lightweight gear site you linked to a few months back rather than sourced direct from the good ol' US of A?
