Re: Not getting out there, wasting time (and my life) instead

This thread strikes a lot of chords with me. Riding / fitness / motivation has really tailed off since covid, especially as my main riding buddies are unable to ride any more. I was wondering if there was any scope for a regional BB get together once a month or something where we could get some date...

I have never actually dismantled the bike let alone flown with it! Part of the reason I’m selling. Sorry I can’t be of help.

Re: Audax. anyone ride em ?

When AUK seemed to be struggling at the time of the first lockdown I signed up for a 5 year membership but still haven’t actually ridden one. If anyone is based near the south coast and fancies some DIYs let me know as it’d be a good motivator for me! Sounds a plan Tom, hopefully you can make the N...

Re: Audax. anyone ride em ?

You guys have inspired me with this thread. I'm not in to road cycling in any way, but this does sound fun. I'm going to sign up for the New Forest Onshore event in Sept as the first one that's local and on a day I am free. https://www.audax.uk/event-details/10376-new_forest_onshore Will be checkin...

Re: Salsa Warroad owners….

Mines the Ferrari red colour. I’ve just set it up with 650b x 47c properly and it rides great. Think I’ll go with 32c for the 700c set.

Dunno if anyone is interested but I’m selling the set of Tiagra / WTB wheels that came with the bike in case you wanted a third or fourth wheelset!

Yeah similar to s&s couplers but with a sleeve / clamp system. It’s very neat indeed.

Re: Salsa Warroad owners….

A bit like that bloke with the shavers, I borrowed one, loved it, then bought one! https://advntr.cc/wildcat-100-the-race-that-never-was/ If you're getting a second wheelset get a 650b one, the warroad can fit Senderos, at least as a 1x it can. 650b Ventures might be a good shout too for 50/5...

Re: Salsa Warroad owners….

They are 700 x 38… so won’t fit the Warroad

But happy to swap if they’ll fit in another frame you have?

Re: Salsa Warroad owners….

It’s the same Vittoria tyres I cocked up with in 38c flavour. I did try and fit my 650b wheels in the frame with 47c teravail Rutland on velocity blunt ss rims but something v weird was going on. Sounded like the cranks were being compressed into the bb and was scraping.

Re: Salsa Warroad owners….

What you after a pure slick or a something more tourey or canal towpathy ? Warbird owner( love it its a keeper- but so wish it took a rack every now and then) but use 35 mm for commuting 25 mm for road and 44mm for gravel ( evennwith that it would be questionable if the mud was sticking to the tyre...

I’ve not ridden it properly yet but the geometry just feels so *right* - a real “in the bike” rather than “on the bike” feeling.

Re: Salsa Warroad owners….

Yeah, I took a bit of a punt from measurements. The back is fine with about 3mm clearance. Bit daft of me. I’ll check out the gravel kings.

Salsa Warroad owners….

So after seeing these in the bargain alert thread I took the plunge with the intention of running as a 700c all road bike. I’ve just bought a set of Vittoria 38c tyres that come up about 40c on my stans CB7 rims and there is about 1mm clearance on the fork max. Does anyone have any recommendations f...

Ritchey Outback v2 breakaway frame medium

After much deliberation about bike rationalisation I’ve decided that this one has to go. It’s a wonderful frame and the breakaway feature is great but with 2 young children and other bikes that can cover gravel it’s got to go. It’s currently built up in a 1 x GRX 810 setup. I’ll likely re-use the bu...

Re: Sleeping mat recommendations please

Thanks Lazarus what are the packed dimensions?

If you could also let me know exact weight please I could well be interested.

Otherwise exped ultra 5 looks like the best all round option as I also use a quilt sometimes.

Thanks for the input all.

Sleeping mat recommendations please

Hi everyone.

I’m looking for a mat circa £125 for summer camping with my family but also that will cover 3 season bikepacking and pack as small as possible.

There are so many options available I thought this was the place to ask. So any recommendations appreciated!

Cheers
