Re: Welsch C2C GPX
Count me in for a copy of the gpx too please - dblear @ gmail DOT com As for hosting, the "Public" folder of Dropbox does a good job of that, then just share the links here. As a thought, could we have a sticky for "Readers Rides" or similar? I assume it would be for 2+ day outin...

Re: 2 - 3 days in the Brecons / Black mountains
Thinking of something similar for August Bank Holiday weekend, and (roughly) stitched this together - http://bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?lnk=https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2499866/brecons.kml It's the bastard-son of Lars' route, plus EWE bits and Ian's comments above... creating/tracing/merging gpx files
I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't find it... What do people use for creating gpx's from several existing gpx files (plus a bit of gap filling)? What i'd like to be able to do is load in a bunch of gpx files, then trace over the selected bits, join up some of the gaps and then save th...

bivvying kids
My eldest (9) wants to bivvy out (yay!), would people just recommend an adult bivvy bag? Do they even make kids ones??
Also, is it worth buying decent kids sleeping bags or just cinching in an adult bag?
Mostly this would be car/beach camping, but some bikepacking may occur in the future.
Ta!

Adding lifters to a tarp
I seem to recall seeing (somewhere online) clip-on lifters that could be added to a tarp, but now can't find the link. Did I dream it?
If so, what's the best solution to adding tie-off/lifter points to a lifter-less tarp? (other than buy a new tarp!)

Re: Gear advice needed - Mat & Bag
I currently either have a balloon bed (!) or a ca 20yr old thermarest as my mat options so the 2 up there ^^ looked very appealing. Only really a 3 season bikepacker, but I'm also 6'4", so are either of those 2 more or less suited to those of excessive height? It's really just down to the leng...

Fleegle bars, on-one stem and neoprene overshoes from Planet X sale.
Finally can ditch the over-engineered stem from my hardrock commuter.

Re: Budget rigid 29er
The 23" frame on this one is tempting (I'm 6'4")...but the rigid fork and 1x9 simplicity of the Ramin appealed.rocklobstercat wrote:These look good value for money:

20% off everything at Sports Shoes using code RN314. They have some decent Gore, Inov8 and Montane stuff on sale right now ,so this save you more. I've used them once before and service was great. Hoping this is still current as I notice they also do 10% cashback through quidco on all sales! :-bd 2...
