yep! twinfix versions of the megaforce and lightforce available at the synthase website, bike24, r2 bike or some other German shops...tend to be generally pretty good. also check out bike-discount.de as they sometimes have them for a deal.
thanks for the kind words chaps!

Re: Bar mounted accessories setup
ive been interested in bar mounting kit for a wee while, using a Bar Yak Ultra primarily, and with a 4 point harness I made, laterally stiffened with a carbon fibre tube, it is incredibly stable even with a sizeable DCF hybrid roll bag (I also made) mounted. The trick was then to use the carbon 22.2...

Re: Suggest a drybag that'll fit me this
ive been messing around with strap deck bags - im sending Andy at backcountry.scot some soon. I make them, from various materials. they are not waterproof but are water resistant... the latter ones I made are 27cm circumference - just bigger than a waterbottle... keep an eye on backcountry if you ar...

Re: drj0n bagworks
there is a strap that is of fixed length from the bar to the auxiliary bar, then the strap that cinches down on the dry bag goes from bar, round the dry bag to the auxiliary bar. that means tension in *that* strap stops the auxiliary bar rotating back up towards the handlebar and the fixed length st...

Re: Dynaplug users?
yep, agree dynaplug likely to have worked, and brass bits not problem with tube. sometimes they come off, sometimes not, but either way ive not had issues when ive used them. ive also used innovations anchovies, and would generally always want to use a dynaplug from now on.

Re: drj0n bagworks
maybe for sale. id need to have a way to make it MUCH more reasonably. the side parts are from a riser for a PRO dh direct mount stem, and are 23 quid alone...(for the kit, there are 2 thinner riser plates in the kit too) and there's a lot of work in the spacer. But if it is proven in terms of conce...

Re: drj0n bagworks
thanks for that! I knew about an older product very similar called a Fred Bar. I'm not surprised you've had good luck with it. the solidity over rough ground is SO much better eh? the idea is this is as small and light as functionally possible and is also detachable easily. I received a couple of bi...

Re: Seat Post Shims
you'll struggle to find a ti post in 31.6 - mostly the biggest is 30.9. I have used moots and eriksen - both are good (and similar for obvious reasons) ive used them with USE and cane creek shims. both of which are also good. not all ti posts are created equal - in either the construction or clamps....

Re: drj0n bagworks
yep- they are in shear. I reckoned 4xM6 bolts would probably be tough enough to take the weight, even in shear, but it would be a risk. if I pursued this, I would make it keyed in to the steerer part just as you suggest. I actually made this to fit under a stem, but on the bike in the photos there i...

so, feel like this is as good a place as any to put this up...id love some feedback on the ideas I hope to bring to this thread... Re: Garmin Etrex to Edge adaptor
for sure. you can buy glue on 1/4 turn mounts at present. Im surprised no one has made a cover mount so far, but I was never able to find one (thingiverse and shapeways being the main sources for this stuff).
in saying that, the mount I have is barely more than a cover so I remain happy with it.

Re: Those SOL bivvy bag things
I used one as a vbl in a bag a few years ago. because its so moist here generally (maritime? ha! ... the fort bill footage and HTR footage....another Scottish summer classic! wry smile...) it was a very soggy night. the science behind vbl is interesting but after riding, not having time to fully dry...

its an Otso - think he's on 29" tyres. the bb is a flipped 83mm equivalent - takes fatties, but can be set up with various wheels nicely so I hear... and I totally agree 4 days given conditions is nuts.
