That's right Colin. Can't have been cheap whether hired or borroed from friends and family. Gonna enter shortly and have a low threshold for not getting all the checkpoints...ScotRoutes wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 8:11 pm I see that the entry fee includes the provision of a GPS tracker. Oh... head I try to tuck in but am careful of my back and sprain (12 hours shift as soon as I arrive) and most of the ride is in the drops so try to maintain as much of the aero gain as poss. Already has some aero bars (mainly for comfort) and once I drop some weight (off it, not me) I should notic...

Re: All points north cycling/BPing event
My policy is: if you don't want to pay that much to do it, don't. Move on and find something else to do. Yes. Good policy definitely. I know you'd not think anything otherwise - as we're not on STW afterall, though slagging that site off in this sentence is almost an oxymoron - but the purpose of o...

Anyone got any lying about. Not sure if they actually come in different qualities other than the 2 way release and 1 way release.

No skin suit nor drafting traffic or anyone in Crikey, how much jackets (they get rqther annoyed, even if I try telling em I have one on too with my baggy pants). No aero helmet (though I might need to look into that) as I never plan on any form of skinsuit which is where the bulk of the seconds sha...

Well done Gian in finding that annoying creak. Reminds me when riding with Luke (Lune Ranger) down in the Deep South (army barracks and all sorts, forget the name, glad I never got arrested with my big bushy muzlamic beard), and a creak from the bike. Would come when weather got too dry so was mostl...

Any aftermarket DWR coatings that actually work? I wanted to write no, but... silicone, wax... In my experience, Grangers, Nikwax et al. work best when "heat treated" with an iron. Check the right settings for your garment. Not all hardshells like tumbledrying, especially some of t...

Thankyou Dave... I look forward to that book/app.Dave Barter wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 12:51 pm I've got an on-going project (along with learning Portuguese) to work out all of the UK road climbs from data and classify them.
It's not as easy as it sounds and I keep getting distracted. One day I'll be able to answer your question.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021
Marvelous stuff Shaff, well done It occurs to me that bivvying on the summit of Ben Macdui (alt 1300m) as a random example, is fairly straightforward, requiring only the right kit, and probably weather, and a modest amount of oomph to get up it. Whereas bivvying in the middle of London requires a w...

Well Shaf, that has got to be one of the most balls-out, if you'll forgive the expression, which isn't a comment on your sleeping arrangements, BaMs of 2021. A hell of a long day to start with, a missed stop, kipping inside the CZ (lots of extra points for that, Central London next?), nearly gettin...

I think Shaf was intimating that the leaf blowing bit reminded him of autumn leaves not that he actually indulges in that futile, and as you say wasteful, endeavour himself. Or does he? . That's right Reg... I slept amongst the autumn leaves (and rats I imagine) for this here Bivy just 4 mil...

Shaf - I am Kev C, thank you Stuart.
