Bivi bag only for now, will be watching forecast closely though. If things go well then naked and drunk in a ditch could be a goer!

Re: Waterproof/Quick drying shorts
I cut down some Lidl waterproof trousers into 3/4 shorts*. Lasted a couple of hundred miles of winter series races/rides before the seams seals started to peel (still ok). I've invested in some altutas for a better fit and pockets. WRT will likely be their first outing!

Doing the 24hr solo this year. Ill have a bucket of energy gels and general crap. I'm not really approaching this scientifically, just factoring on the above mentioned "something is better than nothing" idea!

Re: 650B anyone?
Purely from the "standing them next to each other" test 29ers seem worth the hassle as they are noticeably different. Being 700c also means there is a wide range of bits that can easily be pressed into use as spares. 650b is different enough that it "won't" play nicely but not di...

Re: Got a Neoair? Dont like being dizzy whilst blowing it up
Yeah, mine inflates fine with me blowing into it but I'm worried ill fill it with mould & scupper the warmth rating. The standard pump sack is worse than useless. Having said that, I think you're easily tempted into putting too much air into them.

Alfine Swift, yes it's a good idea, fluoro colours, hmm each to their own. Rack mounts? That makes the baby Jesus cry. (but what would I know, my Fargo is festooned with bolt ons)

Re: Got a Neoair? Dont like being dizzy whilst blowing it up
Having been underwhelmed inflating my xtherm with the standard sack I bought the 40l pump sack and it inflates it waaaay quicker. I'd have been tempted by the gadgety ness of this had I known about it though. Having said that, it's a bit single purpose though.

105/Ultegra likely to be 10spd, don't think that's trickled down to Sora?
Personally I'd just get out and ride it. When you wear it out or break it on an epic ride THEN replace it.

I bought a Grand Canyon al29 8.9 as the spec was unbeaten by anyone for the money. It was bloody quick but had no "soul". I just didn't get excited by the prospect of riding it.

Jan was in a Tent, Feb in a Bivi Bag on a beach (no shelter), March in mid-snowmageddon was in a Bivi bag again amongst trees. I was also in a silk liner but its paper thin and only used to keep it clean rather than thermal.
