I've got the stock, base model (in black) Whilst the components are functional, they are not as good as the frame....it is well worthy of upgrading. I have put some hunt 650b wheels on, and it is much better.....I hated the stock wheels, and had to have one replaced under warranty after the hub got ...

It's dead handy.....you can wear it round your waist when off the bike, and you haven't developed a mangina yet, then, when it gets a bit bashed, round the gooch area, strap it to the bars.

But yeah, forks need painting black! Easy enough to do, just make sure you scuff the old paint up good and proper to give the new paint a good key...then lots of thin coats

The spyres on my sequoia are excellent. After a proper bedding in process, they have no problem locking the front wheel up. Even in the wet, they are very good. I won't be swapping them out.
