Running watch

I have been trying a Polar M200 but have had problems with it starting a new session that I have finally given up and returned it.  My wife also has one which seems to be OK but I have ...

Amusing and interesting...

Looks like this might be another thing like 'bumblebees theoretically can't fly but they don't know that'

@thenorthwind I have a couple of old laptop batteries which I can try to open up. How do you recognise if a cell is no longer usable?

Also signed up, this links with my own personal interest in path development. I am involved with two projects locally here in western Aberdeenshire to identify paths and trails - one concerned with paths in the AB54 area and one to develop a long distance trail linking 6 small communities. A signifi...

Tyvek for groundsheet

I know Tyvek is sold as a house wrap. I have a part roll of Rubberoid Rubershield Pro wrap. Is this the same thing? Or can it be used as a groundsheet?

I have an old Kodak Easyshare M552 which I use for this purpose. Measures about 95x55x20. No idea what the latest similar model might be, I've had it for years. That's probably not a lot of help...

Khalil certainly has this tunnel vision and prey drive. If he spots something it's like all other senses are closed down and you can't get through. He also seems to be very territorial. Any other dog passing the house or seen on a regular walk and he will go for them. Have to be watchful when out wa...

Used to let him run in our local forest but after I had to pull him off a deer on two occasions, and someone complained about dogs being exercised off the lead and threatened to report to the police I stopped going there. He is able to run in our field but he's got quite lazy now.

Full Saluki, but not registered because his father was a rescue. Can't let him off the lead or he'd disappear for hours.

Webp image format was developed by Google as an alternative to jpg. Smaller file size for same quality image. I can open with Gwenview image viewer on Linux laptop. I think you can convert to .jpg, Google is your friend.

If you have an account with OS Maps you can login to the website, click 'Places' and there are tick boxes for trig points and benchmarks as overlays on the map.

Not related to this, but I've just found out that you can add an overlay on the OS maps website which displays benchmarks. There is one shown on the corner of our house! However I think it has been lost - the end wall of the house was rebuilt as part of our renovation in 2007 and nobody knew it was ...
