Re: Trail Recipe of the Day
I understand the benefits of salt intake, but how much does a tablesppon affect the taste? It's a bit difficult to say, I tend to like salty food, but these didn't taste salty, just right. I guess you could try them with less salt and see. Next batch I might well try that. I feel that I'm about to ...

Re: Pole Feet
I'd consider making the base rounder Duncan. They'll obviously be very stable as are but should the tent decide to fall over, it''ll be more likely to bend / snap as you've set up a stress raiser. Ideally you want the pole to be able to fall over with the shelter rather than try and remain upright ...

Re: Fancy some Bar Mitts / Pogies things?
They are much nicer to ride in than really thick winter gloves, but they look ridiculous. Only used them once this winter, when it was seriously baltic/cold. Hands were toasty, feet were freezing I'd just like to take this opportunity to copyright the concept of "Pedal pogies" I've been g...

Re: Modifying Drybags
I want to add some webbing loops to a couple of cheap hard wearing drybags (lomo ones) so I can use them with my aeroe rack so. The loops need to be there for the straps to go through so the bag doesn't migrate sideways ways. I don't want to sew them on as I want the bags to stay dry. Would fabric ...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Isobaa merino at sport persuit 50% off. No idea on the quality but just picked up a l/s top for 35 quid, about one third of the equivalent Smartwool. I've got three isobaa base layer tops, two thin and one thick and a hoody. They have been really good with none of the delaminating that HH ones suff...

Re: Drop bar bar bags
Topeak Barloader? I use mine on the front of a bar roll but also as a separate bag for day rides. I also have an Ortleib one which is smaller but the metal buckle is a bit more faffy. That Topeka barloader falls squarely into the "strap round headtube" category, so doesn't fit the bill, I...

Re: Drop bar bar bags
If you have the stack height, try one of these:- https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/accessories/thorn-accessory-bar-t-shaped-55-mm-extension-222-mm-0-deg/ longer ones also. Keeps a bar roll of the head tube and should allow a lioness harness to be strapped to it, rather than the fork crown for a solid fit...

Drop bar bar bags
Pretty much all of the bar bags that I've seen have two straps for the bars and one for the headtube. Apart from issues with rubbing on the headtube, I feel that some headtubes just don't have any vertical room at the rear, for the straps, anyway. I'm toying with an idea that something like a cross ...

Re: Seat Pack advice please
Thanks all for the feedback! I have been informed in clear terms that a classic rack is not an option  I did wonder about putting a small seat pack on top of the Alpkit rail thing or even bending the rail down to form a mini rack so a small seat pack could go on top of it and still be mostly ...

It's been touted before, and heartily rejected - but the gutter press either don't know this, or choose to ignore it, for the sake of the headline
