Re: Todays ride
Again not really a ride but it was a camp. Took two of the kids (10 & 11) wild camping. They love it tbf. Was a great evening/night in a great little spot near Llyn Eigiau, North Wales which is only 20 minutes by car and then a 1/2 hour walk. Lovely and calm through the night. they were in the O...

Llanberis Film Festival
This weekend I've got one of my films being shown at the Festival. Really chuffed and proud that one of my edits has been selected. For info, its a slightly different edited version of my fat bike tour in the Outer Hebrides. Looking forward to seeing my film on the big screen. There's lots more goin...

Or you could put it down to the fact that these guys work and live in London town and they want to experience the bothy buzz. For them it might be completely new and unexplored so to tell their world what they have done, fair play. For those of us who treat a bothy or bivvy as a normal weekend, yes ...

Iceland bothies/shelters?
I'm off out to Iceland with John Climber in the summer for a week of fat biking. Our 'rough' plan is to get out on day rides by using a 4x4 as a mobile base camp. However, the more I search the web the more I'm seeing these shelters located out in the sticks. My thinking is it'll be great to maybe u...

Re: Dulyn Bothy, N Wales. Anyone been there ?
To avoid wet feet I'd take the double track up to Melynllyn from the Eigiau car park. Then drop down the steep path to Llyn Dulyn. This avoids the wet path to on the northern edge of the river (from Dulyn). You'll be dropping down from here, and yep, take yer own wood!! http://i403.photobucket.com/a...

Snow Bike Festival 2017
OK I know I'm not a full on journo or riddled with all the knowledge/gadgets but last week I somehow found myself in Gstaad, Switzerland to cover the Snow Bike Festival for www.fat-bike.com. My first 'proper' ride report here: https://fat-bike.com/2017/01/snow-bike-festival-2017-switzerland/ And a c...

Stu would be happy with this slog. On yesterdays ride this 400ft climb in 0.2 of a mile!! I done it before so I knew what I was letting myself in for :/ And yes it was near vertical in places :-bd A nice day for it though http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp117/summittoppler/Eigiau%2027-12-16/20161...
