Re: Bb200 Waffle Thread.

The great thing about a route of 200km is you won't be in the same weather all the way round, not everywhere will get 31mm.... some parts will get more

Isn't that less than half what we had last year  I'd better pack the sun cream, will factor 30 do or will I need the 50

Yeah they're good those. Bought a few for adding extra "mid" ties on a DD Superlight tarp that I bought ages ago. You'd think they'd scrunch up the material but didn't seem to noticeably. With a recommendation like that I'll order some next week. I'll wait until after the BB300 in case I ...

A pretty wet and windy night not helped by the stitching on one of the corner ties failing which led to me being woken up by being slapped around the face by a soggy tent wall. By coincidence I had a marketing email for these today https://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/equipment-c3/accessories-c1...

I did 3/4 of one with a broken rib and still got around in sub 24h. You'll be fine. That said, I did four days of Torino Nice Rally with three broken ribs... so I might just be a little insane. You also tried to walk your bike out of a trail with a broken hip socket so not sure we can use y...

No cache allowed, that would give an advantage to locals/people crossing the route on their way there. As with all these type of events, once it's past the time the shops shut then getting supplies is an issue. If you ride straight through then it's likely to be 12 hrs without any open shops. It's j...

..they couldn't position the recue divers in the sea as it was too rough. Health and safety eh!? They never had rescue divers when Louise Aitken-Walker put the works Astra in the Lake that time, her and the co-driver just had to escape through the windows and swim to shore. Re: What you done t' your bike today

32:19 was always my choice for Wales I'd seen that on one of your BB200 write-ups which is how I arrived at 34/20 last year, was just right so thank-you for that  34/20 is just under 1% higher than 32/19. 19t and 20t surley cogs are the same price but 34t oval chainring were £10 cheaper than...

I got Roger Musson’s wheel building guide a while back and followed it to the letter - pleased with the result, but I’ve not ridden on it yet :???: I'm self taught from Musson's book and all the wheels I've built have never needed touching once finished. Occasionally I'll give the spokes a pluck to...

Re: Minimal rear rack like this

Are the M5 fixings for racks one of the only 'standards' for bikes that have been changed? Yet one of the only things that really needed changing

But stronger rack fixings don't sell bikes like a new bottom bracket standard or new handlebar clamp size.

Hopefully nothing to worry about as basically a minor dink. That frame's written off, it's an accident looking for somewhere to happen. It will need to be correctly disposed of to make sure it doesn't get re-used with the subsequent liability for any harm caused going back to you. Disposal isn't ch...

Alpkit are really good about returns for sizing. I'd order the small to try and then send back either one or both pairs if the small aren't a better fit. I'm usually a medium and I have a pair in a 12  they were out of mediums so I tried on a pair of Jane's riding shorts to gauge my size in l...
