Re: Yorkshire500

The difference here is that the organisers are promoting an event rather than a route. I can see why they might want to keep it under wraps until after the event. Alan Goldsmith does a similar thing with the HT550 and I guess the BB200/300 isn't too different. Thanks v much Colin... So I guess its ...

Yorkshire500

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-yorkshire-500-tickets-75856864925 Just came across this. A similar thing as the nc500 it seems but around Yorkahire. Hoping to complete it next year God-Willing and fundraise for 10 orphans... Only slight glitch is that the event creator doesn't appear to be wanting ...

Re: The 2020 Yorkshire Dales 300 & 200 event

Pretty sure Jase said that the YD is more gruesome than the bearbones (like for like weather I assume he meant).. is that true or is it probably something I misunderstood (maybe he was talking of one of the other groupstart ITTs...)

Anyone care to comment  please

Re: Hello

Hello Gelf and welcome... Cant help with tall peoples tents but when I first joined the forum I picked myself up a cheap Goretex bivvy bag. It weighs about 900g and does a terrific job. Its very flappy around me and I'm 5ft10... should be just fine for a 6ft3 so if you wished to borrow that until yo...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Continuing with the Krampus. New front wheel built with FatLab 55mm rim, SAPIM Race, and Schmidt SON hub. Swapped on the steel forks from my Fargo so I can raise the front end to get the Loops up level with my saddle. Taking shape nicely for its first outing in a couple of weeks. Where's its first ...

Re: Garmin Edge 1000 can’t find satellites...

Don’t right it off yet! My Oregon did the same on last weekends BB200, good job I had a back-up! Thought it was odd as it’s never played up before, had a search & it looks like a few people have been having problems recently. There’s a thread on STW, think Colin mentioned on there that there’s ...

Re: 28h Hole Rear Wheel Sufficient?

Brass nipples... then just reuse them. The compound is (IMO) just an excuse for building poor quality wheels... If you get the tensions just right and tuned appropriately (you're trying to find the perfect balance between equalish tensions and) with the lateral and radial true. Then there's no real...

Re: 28h Hole Rear Wheel Sufficient?

Also, the spokes I have removed appear to be DT DBs (assume competitions) but are 278/9mm. I assume there is nothing I can do to reuse these (other than choose a different rim)? The wheel they have come off is brand new so they are perfect. I think the nips are alloy though but don't really know ho...

Re: 28h Hole Rear Wheel Sufficient?

Cheers all. 274 it is then. I’m a fan of DT Proloc nipples that come with a light locking compound in them and help to keep everything in place once the wheel is built Any idea how this compound holds up once it has been broken and the nipple used again? I am thinking that the nipples I have may ac...

Wash at home but on gentle wash... only to save laundry costs... take arpund 6 quid to laundrette with 3 tennis balls and use the largest dryer... should be done in around 40 mins. Then get home and whack on air near dehumidifier. Mine (PHD minimus) plumpee up nicely after roughly going theough that...
