[quote="s8tannorm"] Navigating, carrying gear and sleeping wherever, are actually plus points, so it's hard to attach any value to them ... in fact we sometimes pay to do them (although it's a tiny sum compared to £370) [quote] Once you add up the cost of all the bits of gear .... £370 mig...

Im with ctzsmith on this one. I like to move my hands around so my preference is for some Jones Loops
Also gives more space to attaching things to (Lights/GPS/... etc)

Re: Help me build up a bikepacking bike

I too use a Singular Swift for backpacking duties - its very flexible in terms of how you can set it up In no particular order.... When I have gears, I use a Alfine 8 Hub, so make full use of the EBB. The EBB has been solid, no creaking and makes it simples for when I change over to singlespeed I us...

Re: Another good weekend?

I felt a bit off all week so had the weekend off the bike (and felt so guilty not to be taking advantage of the weather)
Spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon in the sun, tinkering an improved cockpit to incorporate the new GPS

As I sit here on Monday morning it seems to have boosted my motivation

Re: Highland trail 550!!

Yeah that's a big no no. You need to charge a battery that you in turn charge the light with. There are several that can charge and give charge at the same time. The only thing that can plug into the Revo is the rear light that exposure do. Or alternatively run a Pliug2 or Lightcharge which will ta...

I'm building brownie points for next weekend so it's a quick overnighter, local-ish. There could be a pub and beer involved Sunday, back early to take the kids swimming.

Following Weekend I'm away for the duration (winter climbing in Scotland) .... Gari can you sort the weather out for us please

Caused so much drag I took it off, preferred to get wet instead

2 wires from the hub cableties to the RHS leg. First Cable goes up head tube, feeding into the Plug 11
Second goes to the light, on outside via stem
