OMM waist pouch 3l and Montane Batpack here. Happy with both
Former is a fair bit smaller than the latter
Latter is my main bag for local rides

I went for a pootle round Swinley earlier. It flipped between hot and cold, with various intervals of sun, rain, sleet and hail.

The cheap stuff is free for those of us who get given it at work, but I still end up paying for Starbucks Via for outdoorsy trips as it's so much nicer! For anyone who hasn't been before (I've still only managed one in 2014!), it's a very friendly affair I rode on my own for most of it, and had my own route planned for the trip. But I spent both nights camping with others and enjoyed my pub meal with some others again It's a very social affair so ev...

Re: Sleeping Mats - What and where to carry
The beauty of things like neoairs and synmats is that fundamentally just seam sealed pieces of thick material, so they can be folded, rolled, coiled and scrunched into any shape. They can fit down the side of a dry bag, at the bottom, round the inside etc. In a seat pack, in a bar harness, on a fork...

Large original neoair here
Rolled up and put inside the drybag that goes in the harness on my bars. Usually has a chair kit attached to it

Very detailed spreadsheet with weights of everything
Also a log of most trips I've been on with the kit list and a little diary note of what the trip was like and what worked and didn't work well
Haven't had time to update my last trip though!

Re: bikepacking route suggestions
Hi, In mid May I have time for a bikepacking trip and I'm looking for suggestions. I've thought about the Trans Cambrian ITT (it's unfinished business but the transport back to Knighton looks like it might be problematic). Maybe the BB200? Where can I download the 2015 route?). The Peaks 200 looks ...

Re: Undershort Suggestions
The last time I wore undershorts on a bikepacking trip was in 2014. I just wear normal boxer shorts now It's a bit strange as I wear lycra bibs for cycling to work etc, but for anything on the MTB I rarely bother with undershorts now. I find it a bit too clammy, and I haven't had any saddle sores wi...

I've got a JBL flip 2 which is a Bluetooth speaker. Love it. Sound quality and quantity is pretty good for price and comes with a handy case. Don't take it bikepacking though

Edit to add, sorry Benp1, not intended as a downer on your Brompton at all! 99% of Evans staff would disagree with me here anyway : ) You should see the office, full of pimped or customised Bromptons.. None taken, even without the edit (though appreciate it anyway) I really like it, I don't ...

Re: The post man's been ...
Serious question - given the difference in price, are Bromptons that much better than other folding bikes? The equipment fitted as standard appears quite run of the mill. Equipment is fairly basic to be honest, although it's fairly robust There's no question that there are cheaper options around, b...

Sprinter is a good light If you like the Petzl Nao approach, the Petzl R+ and RXP keep some of the functionality with a form size of a 3AAA headtorch. I don't think they're massively well regarded though I really like this website for headlight reviews (in fact other reviews too) http://www.outdoorg...
