Re: What you done t' your bike today

It needed new bearings may as well have good ones plus the addition of the Reba fork I got off Allen a good while ago  hopefully get the stem cut down over the weekend in between work and get ready for the Jennride https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52910467591_bb5abfe46e_c.jpg pro-IzEtc19z by...

Nice mate what a cool project really liked that, don't think there was many in my family who cycled and if they did I don't think they went on epic rides.

Re: Today's Run

Looked at this thread a few times and tbh I won't be running the big distances like some in here and despite being rather pants at running I've always enjoyed a run so today I ran (first for a while), 3.6 mile off road in the rain with big muddy puddles. Great stuff :-bd https://live.staticflickr.co...

Re: Lakeland 200 Writeup

Just thinking with it being the Lakes and as rough as it can be may be worth going for the Grid version just for extra protection, seen them at £30 ish also online :-bd https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/specialized_ground_control_grid_2bliss_ready_t7_29_x_2_35_inch_mtb_tyre_2022-ID_83836?gclid=CjwKCAjw3u...

Re: Lakeland 200 Writeup

Well done. It is a tough route - easier without luggage, like the sub 20 hr types or if you take 3-4 days. You went for the hardest option  "‘needless’ out and back got me to Seathwaite" - it's a lovely section of trail with some classic singletrack and helps make the route 200Km. G...

Re: The king is dead.....

Tempest Pro in moderate to heavy rain for 2hrs on a not too hilly road ride and not really pushing hard on the climbs, after half hour it felt okay onto the hour mark and it was pretty wet through the next hour was just uncomfortable and clingy. The jacket itself fits and feels great and maybe its s...

Re: The king is dead.....

In all fairness, it was extremely wet yesterday. I'd say that's perfect conditions for testing a new waterproof jacket though and it didn't pass the test.. There's a chance the user made made plenty of errors, he often does. They're quite a simple thing though, put it on, zip it up, plug the neck-g...

Re: Dropper posts & Seat bags

I use a dropper but dont always use it when bike packing but the Wolftooth thingymabob works a treat easy to install & remove and use with an Alpkit seat pack, it allows the dropper to be used but where the seat pack straps onto the Wolftooth on the post maybe only allows for 1/3 of the droppers...

Came across this pepper pot looking ruin on yesterdays ride, not sure of its history but will find. Indeed palatial  I didn't trek to far for a pee if I'm honest just to the next room which also had no floor  :-bd

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Some excellent Men In Sheds stuff going on here at the last minute. That CITW even has a little annexe bit for next time! 3 Rooms in total, not sure of the history of it tbh maybe a store of some sort as there is a farm across the field. The annexe part has two small rooms but with no floor at all ...
