I parked at Talybont on Usk and after tea and cake at the café I headed off down the Canal towpath in the direction of Crickhowell . I had heard a rumour that there may be a suitable location for the night en route so i though...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

I went out for a spin on one of the old motorbikes around the lanes of Herefordshire on Saturday my route home took me up from the Wye into a lovely wood and on through the village of Woolhope , as I passed the pub I saw loads of people sat in the garden in shirt sleeves enjoying the unexpected heat...

I am getting the impression that canals are dangerous places and there is a possibility that I may be close to one in the not to distant future so some arm bands are on my list of things to buy they may even solve the ongoing pillow issues

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

With the current warm weather it seemed like a good idea to get out last night for this month's bivvy as some showers were forecast the bivvy bag was left at home in favour of a bit more shelter . I have been struggling with a bad knee for a few weeks but was determined to make a bit more of an effo...

Thursday was another one of those it's going to be cooler outside than inside nights so inspired by V's recent reports from the Brecon Beacons it seemed like a good idea to go and try to find some of the things and places she mentioned plus there was a pub very close to my intended route . I arrived...

Excellent stuff Bob, Dee/Stu and Reg had my first beans and courgettes tonight also bloody lovely . The little stream at the bottom of the garden mysteriously seems to have developed a small dam resulting in a small pool ideal for water extraction should anyone be minded to do such a thing  H...

Re: Acepac - get it while I've got it.

I have just received a front roll bag I have a question is there a secret to tensioning the straps as I can't get them to pull through the buckles easily and I can't get any tension on the strap that goes around the lower crown at all it just rotates .
