Re: How to Wild Camp Responsibly in the UK (Video)

Just reading about a joining of GR paths in France to form a longer route. This little gem stands out as wisdom from the zen of wild camping: 'Bivouacs are authorized anywhere where it is not prohibited. Wild Camping is prohibited anywhere where it is not prohibited! It is not a mad as it sounds as ...

Yes in winter or really really wet days or crossing wet grass/tussocks. And under over trousers if it is sluicing down. I also wear a mid cut approach shoe that is higher than a trainer cut. I use Mountain Warehouse gaiters the type that clip on the front of your boot/shoe and have a strap under. I ...

Re: DT swiss hub bearing help

There is an interactive online support parts finder here:
https://www.dtswiss.com/en/support/product-support

Using the information you have given it could be Ball bearing 6902 Ø 15/28x7mm but don't take my word for it.
You have to dig for the information but it is there.

Re: Removable arms..... for side sleepers

Time to be creative. Create a gap for your arm while still supporting your body. Buy a cheap lilo and carefully slit between centre air tubes until you get something like a 'gentlmans saddle' arrangement. Might also need an insulated sleeve as when transferred to a proper insulated matt you just cut...

Re: Loop Bars - uncomfortable

I have the same problem with all bars so swap them around depending on time of year. Current favourites are Soma Dream Riser the highest sweepiest widest bars I could find/afford after Stooge bars not being in stock. I found myself riding with hands cupped on the ends of the Loops for long periods s...

Re: Does it feel like winter everywhere?

Early Autumn here in Brittany. 23C Sunny Trails still dusty. Dark at 21.30. Hopefully it will stay pleasant until late October. It was mentioned in the forecast I saw that rainfall, or lack of, in northern France constituted drought conditions and 21/22 winter would not replenish water supplies. Ex...

Re: More things that fly than usual?

Fewer here too but lots of ants. I am prepping my meadow area and keep ripping the top off ants nests. Usually have flying things stomping around inside my helmet but seems to be fewer this year. This is not true for horseflies but even only had one bite this year. I have been studying one - named M...

I'd just be worried about how stable it'll be in fast corners. 2 wheels at the back and one at the front tends to mean 'tippy' ... much more stable the other way round but also much more complicated  ... but it does look like fun. :-bd Wait till the cutomisers get a go at it. https://www.yout...

Sunny (not) Devon was a bit taters yesterday.
Cycled along East Hill to top of Chineway and back and wished I had something warmer to put on.
It was all unzipped jersey and sweat on the way up and maybe time for full finger gloves on the way down.

Re: great service

In the same vain I needed a new strap for an SKS X-Blade. The fabric strap was leaving marks on a ti frame so must really chew up a painted frame. The grippy surface inside goes hard with age and causes the marking. The only place I could find spares in the UK was SJS but they did not have the part ...
