If you change your mind back I have a large swift 5 months old hardly ridden for sale. Frame and uncut fork still in the box. Impulse buy I don't really need.

Re: Very interesting - dynamo content.

A Ha I have one of those dynamo hubs on order to see if i can make a garmin/phone charger for multiday rides, and to check out the drag in use. Rob Dean has been playing with what he's been calling the DeanaMo on his commutes and it seems USE have taken this to production level, interesting to hear ...

Re: UK self supported events What next?

Entered CL after seeing it on here, so it was a case of just being quick. Just rides are great, but no mater how much you try, nothing gets people to commit like an event on a specific date. Can't see any commercial player organising an event, there's nothing in it for them with our bridleway and li...

UK self supported events What next?

Discussion time, as a few events get going on our shores what kind of "competitive" event would interest you or even work :?: You have the BB200 and Cairngorm loops, which the fast guys will ride untill they drop, while others just attempt to complete in the time. Then there's the up and c...

Re: Warm Weather Winter Training

Have been to Majorca a few times with a bunch of mountainbikers on road bikes, good mix of lumpy bits and flat easy sections. weather can be relied on though, its generally warmer. Tons of companies and german run hotels offer good deals to get cyclists in their off peak season. Have also been to Fr...

Re: Weekend ... anyone out?

Have fun, did a route up to Ashbourne in the summer and was at 90 miles by the time I hit the train track there. Could not belive how tough the drag up from Ashbourne felt, the cafe just after the tissington junction is an ace refuel stop though.

Re: Bottle Cage Clamps

Why not just try a strip of old inner tube between the cage and the fork and then strap it on with three or more chunky cable ties. It spreads the load across the cage bars and is amazinly strong.
you can always carry a few spares too.

Re: Butchered cassette on SS freehub?

The only real sense in doing this I think is get some use out of a decent SS hub rather than having to buy another wheel. A friend only had a SS setup and needed some gears to ease knee pains while climbing in the Dales so I donated a Hope SS hubbed wheel which a SRAM Pg99?? (dont know the numbers) ...

During the 5 days i was riding in wales including Ians Orme to Gower ride I used my edge 800 every day. It was a simple and quite quick charge with my little two AA battery pack each night with lithium batteries. if you do mess up and it loses power I have driven the unit direct with 2 rechargable 2...

Trip of a lifetime, the third time I've done a welsh C2c and by far the best. Cheers to the driving force Ian, and the great company from you, Kev and Mark. After bivying down at the Orme I rode back over to the Afan Valley, then onto Cardiff for two more great days riding. Link to my photos are her...

umm! spacers that came with a hope Trials hub, there are plenty of kits around though.

Discovered this since which I think is brilliant as it makes for easy cog swaps and perfect alignment.

Re: Homebrewed components?

I've had front ally cogs and a rear 2 piece stainless rear cog off them on 2 occasions, mainly because they do a 31T for the old XTR crank I use in 1x9 format. They are superly made and the anodising seems pretty tough as they stay looking good for some time. The rear sprocket has a wide and close f...
