Re: HT550 2023

His tracking is pinging every 20mins whilst some of the other used a much faster rate of every 10 or even 5 mins.
Faster rate = more chance to drop a point

Shad, there is no grit, that’s what it feels like. I think it’s the brain just trying to make sense of a novel sensation. It can be the weave of your socks causing it or anything really. Interesting - I had this a couple of years ago. I bought some new socks in Ullapool and it felt completely diffe...

Re: HT550 2023

I’m trying to work out who’s the leading lady?
Due to timing of tracker updates it’s hard to work out?

Is it Alice or Philippa ~X(

Just checking the tracker this morning - looks like James Hayden has double backed to Inchbae Lodge.
Hope he’s ok, was going great

Edit - good to see Kurt start this morning

I’ve been very sceptical about tail fins, but after seeing how well they coped on the WRT made me reconsider

Alan’s probably your best bet for the GPX file.
I stopped the night before at the ByTheWay campsite and left my van there (for a tenner)

Re: Anyone got any experiences with Planet X Sleeping bags?

If you’re looking for lightweight sleeping then a quilt might fit the bill.
I’ve got a cumulus one, and it packs smaller/lighter for same temp rating :-bd

Re: 22g Stove - how much meths?

I found if you spill a little on the outside before you light it then it acts as a preheat when cold.
Sometimes I used a little circular shaped foil to catch the overspill

WRT Thank You’s

Thank you Stu and Dee, I had a great WRT and that lemon drizzle at the end was just fab.

Also thanks to Karl and Cat - a great atmosphere on the Lonely Hearts

Re: What you done t' your bike today

New running gear fitted just in time for the WRT. Not wanting to have a repeat of last years derailleur failure. 2x chainrings, clean out BB, properly set up rear derailleur, new cassette, new chain, set up front derailleur again as had moved slightly, cleaned and lubed the back hub. New pads front ...

Dropper posts & Seat bags

Had a trawl but couldn’t find an answer to how to mount seat packs to dropper posts.
In my head the bags going to rub on the stantion and damage it. Or the dropper won’t drop either due to bag hitting wheel or the bag attaching will prevent the stantion from sliding.

Is there a solution?
