Re: New jerseys.

you did as gillet dont have sleeves - its a tank top basically and worn over your normal cycling apparel, I like them as its good when there is a bit of wind chill but its also a bit warm if you were not moving. I have a non BB one with removable sleeves so its more adaptable, Have we a rice point o...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

I believe borris is going to clarify the situation with a must return to place of residence instruction. I await the clarification from the man who has used is it two or three places of residency so far and whose last hepful advice was so unclear even the cabinet ministers could not understand it a...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

No I am saying its not risk free and riskier than not doing it and staying at home.

I can never quite decide what is worst road riding or off road but at least off road it will be my fault[probably]

Re: If we close up for a bit...

I am trying to think when a barbecue and a beer with friends is dangerous and i came up with this answer in the middle of a global pandemic. Its not normal right now . The second point is that off road cycling is certainly more dangerous than sitting on the sofa watching tv and MTB is generally a ha...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

dont disagree but its still not zero risk this is why clear guidance was required as common sense suggest breaking the rules is not any more dangerous than adhering to them* - again if 1 does this no issue if everyone interprets them how they want then we have a problem * eg meeting parent a for 20 ...

So get out on your bikes and enjoy it chaps as the chances of it causing further spread of the virus will be zero the risk will only be zero if you can 100% guarantee you wont meet any other person or that you wont crash and require assistance. Neither of these can be guaranteed I agree its probbly...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

the fact that any discussion of being allowed to do it is a bit much since it's illegal at the best of times anyway I will give you that one  I guess the reallissue is everyne will intepret the rules so their thing is allowed and we then dont really have a lockdown. That unfortunately means a ...

Re: Still worthy of the puking gnome???

what aspect of cycling do you consider to be good value for money ?
I stop at chains

That said a decent rigid carbon fork is £ 3-400 so its £3-400 for the spring attachment bit which does seem steep . I assume its to do with economies of scale and relatively high research costs v sales

Re: If we close up for a bit...

A sensibly planned, local, rural bivy should present as good as zero additional risk to you or anyone else, compared to staying at home (and significantly less than going to the supermarket or even a popular park). so would driving 200 miles to see my mum but if everyne does it that is where the pr...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

The current advice is to stay alert and use your common sense

Given this i expect pretty much a different answer from everyone you ask especially as different parts of the Uk have different rules
Wouldi where i live - nah

ub 500g PP for ultralight with quite a few compromises.
especially in the wallet
Cuben is very expensive for reduced packability, lifespan and minimal weight saving - better water management will save you more weight and is considerably cheaper

Re: If we close up for a bit...

You can only exercise with up to one person from outside your household - this means you should not play team sports, except with members of your own household. Can you cycle with someone then? Its not a team sport if you use ITT rules [ i know it says 2m distancing but should be easy to maintain] ...

Pfft I have owned an orange 5

Yes you are right [ its not like you would purposely make an ugly one] but i would not take aesthetics over performance and there is no real alternative to a Lauf [ at that weight ]

The vast majority of nice folk will not do this I am not convinced the vast majority of humanity are nice but a large number will do - even 15-20 % is about 10 Million people doing this Personally i think it will just be the parts near car parks that will be busy so I think I would be going to the ...

Re: Still worthy of the puking gnome???

I dont understand why anyone cares about aesthetics* its not ike you see much of your bike when you actually ride the thing
i guess if you want to put it on a wall and admire it then there are prettier options

* the red water bottle with green bike offends me more than the forks

Re: Tubeless rim tape

25 is wide enough that you could cut it down to the correct width - IME it tears in a striaght lines once you start a cut- tessa tape not officlaal branded stuff

However 19 mm is the internalwidth so you have 1 mm on the side of the rim so i would go with that as its will work without cutting
