Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Yes i get this as well i either sleep straight through if ridden all day or wake up tons if a local BAM This thread make all areas of ...

Re: What summer mat is flavour of the year?
I thought insulated mats were not like sleeping bags in that they were not really warming more they stopped you cooling v the earths mass - basically a high r value is not really warmer than a low one [ well a bit not noticeably like a winter sleeping bag would be in summer] - is this not correct ? ...

Are , by any miracle, any of them accessible on a road bike ?
I guess I can ride on gravel tyres for 25 road miles there but it's quite sub optimal

Looks to me like a pedestrian pushes/knocks a person into the road who ends up dead- which is also what the court case and appeal thought
there is definitely a very clear loser here and its the one no longer aliveAll very unfortunate and no winners.

Re: Dynamo charging data
If it was winter i would be able to help[ but its not on the bike at the minute] sinewave beacon Exposure Dynamo [ rebranded SP] Think mine did 10% per hour to the phone 3500mah battery iirc @ 12mph average - its a shared use path so large parts were quite slow due to walkers and their dogs.

Re: Dashed green line or other (route mapping Q?
You try to do this all off road ? You dont want to end up on Haslingden Grane - the Grane road is awful , there are few BW and its pretty muddy [ unless someone knows better than me- as not massively familiar due to the above] Try to get to ramsbottom and i can route you from there[ legal will be lo...

Re: E-bikes - Bad for your health
Many of us will no doubt end up with them as we age- way better than not riding.
Round my way I increasingly see people half my age on them as humans ,even when exercising, are incredibly lazy.
At some point ebikes will be the norm.

I never understood the point of waterproof shorts, how to you stop your socks/shoes getting soaked More for when splashing through puddles and when it's wet on the ground but not raining.as my arse stays dry. Waterproof socks or just get wet feet if proper wet but cold is the enemy not water so dep...

Simple test is put your front wheel on a block 75 mm big and see what you think stationary ...imho it's too big a difference and will change head and seat angle + BB height and stand over .

My 10 degree rated bag is only good for the warmest of warm days and almost always needs supplementing with an escape bivvy as a liner .

Personally I can ride local lower lower than unfamiliar as I know what's coming. I would advise riding unfamiliar terrain to see what works.Do some local loops at night and experiment.
