Re: Our Crikey, how much Festive 500 film.
In 2015 one of our rides was through the old S Yorks coalfields out through E Yorks to Hornsea. I think Tom was grateful for an uplifting change.

Alfine 11 speed Wheel and Versa Shifter - SOLD
Went on Ebay
I've an 11 speed Alfine Hub built into a 700c rim, which comes with the Versa drop bar shifter (and the other brake lever)
It's done about 500 miles. It has the non turn washers for horizontal dropouts. Also comes with the disc rotor installed.
£200 please.

Re: Scottish Bothy Bible by Geoff Allan
Does anyone have any usage and, shall we say, damage stats both historical and since "The book of the Bothy" appeared (plus other "official" promotional stuff like the TV pieces)? Even if the proportion remains the same, more people will mean more inconsiderate people so you'd e...

The LH shifter was mangled by the bike's previous owner, and we've never got round to replacing it.padonbike wrote:Slightly confused by Tom's bike: clearly a double chainset, but clearly no front mech, chain just running on the inner ring in all photos. I wonder why no front mech.

The first two checkpoints were defo manned. The Tourmalet CP required a selfie.
The end is manned, and there was an ace party put on at the end last year with free food and booze.

Re: French Divide 2017 Entries open 4th December
I think around 2/3rds finished.
It was good. Rural lanes, sleepy villages and byways. We didn't make it to the gnarr bit in the South, but I understand there was a bit of tech riding and pushing.
I'd go back again.

Re: Italian Divide...
You'd think an Italian Divide would follow the full length of the Apennines. Oh and the route doesn't cross the Divide until N of Florence, and that's the only time it crosses it. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/eb/Italia_fisica_appennini.png/320px-Italia_fisica_appennini.png
