Re: #TCRNo8
Fiona Kolbinger was robbed last night as she slept and had a number of valuables stolen including her tracker. After a visit to the police station she is pushing on but untrackable until checkpoint 2. Previous leader Ulrich Bartholomoes is now suffering from significant knee pain and has slowed righ...

You have to question why anyone would (a) produce such things (b) consider buying such things. The answer to both questions is truly beyond me

Full Tilt is indeed a great read. I think it's often been called the best travel book ever written.

Re: Ferries to ‘THE Island’ & other questions
I'm doing a similar outing in June from my home in Wareham Dorset. We are calling it the three ferries tour as I've included Sandbanks, Hengistbury and the Link ferry in the ride. Following a route from this site:

Re: Warm gloves - but not too cumbersome
I don't have Raynauds but have treated quite a few patients with it. Its a horrid painful thing. Some observations rather than recommendations. The thin silk liner with a looseish, windproof outer is a great combination. The Brisker and Dissent gloves mentioned are well liked. Make sure they are not...

"Theatre for Dreamers" by Polly Samson. A story about the expatriate colony on Hydra in the early '60's. I've enjoyed it although these artistic groups always seem to end up in drama and pain!

I bought a bag from R**ha that had removable straps and just punched two holes in it to use on the bike with bolts and simply put the straps back on for the one that didn't.

I'll be doing it on my Mason ISO with 55mm tyres so should be able to cope with a lot. How long did it take you to do the route?

Perthshire Drovers Route
Thinking of doing this Markus Stilz route as a 4 or 5 dayer in late May this year. I have no experience of this area so if anyone on here has done it or knows the route to give me any tips or advise I would be very grateful. One. slightly odd, question. Is there anywhere on the route that would prov...

Having spent all my cycling life suffering from cold extremities, I now find in my dottage that I can ride without gloves for most of the year. Keeping warm for me is about allowing sufficient peripheral perfusion and ...

Re: What not-gravel 650B tyres...?
I use Maxxi Race TT's in 650b on my Vielo on occasions. Have done both the KAW and Kernow way using this set up and, although I could have easily used a narrower tyre, these roll really well and provided the flint protection I was after. I think the Maxxi Pace might be even quicker with a bit less g...
