Re: Bivvy a month 2022

Here's my film from last weeks bivvy on Carnedd Llewellyn if anyone's interested. You'll get a good idea of the terrain/views. I quickly go through my kit near the end and in the last 30 seconds you'll see/hear what I didn't expect from being at the summit! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwpv41ZvSE...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

That's cracking that Jeff. I'm going to have to tap you up for some routes and interesting places as my sil lives in Llanfairfechan and bil is a snowdon ranger, hut he's a little secretive about some places as I think he doesn't like people riding bikes on his patch....... Any time but be prepared ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

July done. My highest one of the year so far. 3490 feet on the summit of Carnedd Llewellyn :-bd It wasn't my intended destination as i wanted to bivvy on Yr Elen but the wind was on the 'cool' side and there's no shelter there. Luckily I knew of this spot as I'd used it a few times before. In the mo...

I like the idea of this. Reminds me of a few role playing books I read as a teen. And like you say you always seem to pick the 'tougher' option!

The 2nd day of my summer holidays (42 days to go!) and I kept it very local early this morning. The Mrs had an important online meeting so I cycled over to Conwy for a chilled out pedal on the coast. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52213746355_52b458d853_c.jpg 20220713_094417 by Jeff Price , on ...

Re: Pan Celtic 2022

Edit - finish at Llandudno is at one of the organisers house I went to school with Mally, the organiser, he's quite a cyclist himself tbf. In 2019 I went out and about to take pics and have a chat with a few, they all loved it. It would be a good excuse to be out on the bike for a couple of weeks....

There's a pretty decent Roman Road not far from me in north Wales. There's plenty of standing stones & stone circles dotted about too.

Re: Aero gravel?

I don'r get it. The bike industry is so sown up in the 'gravel thing', that's just ole skool MTBing!
I'm pretty sure if they asked a a few HT550 starters if this would make the difference then I very much doubt it!!

Had a explore again around Beddgelert forest this afternoon. Despite riding there many times before, there's always a different track to be found. You can guarantee fine views over to Snowdon from any breaks in the tree line. Went to the Princess quarry and then around some dodgy singletrack to the ...

I've been using one for 18 months now. Very impressed at the simplicity of it. Ass aid above you can adjust its angle if it feels a bit heavy although its limit is 8lbs.
