Just wondering if anyone had any the would be willing to exchange for cash? I has some previously (woodchipper 2 in 46cm) and sold them for Jones bars, didn't like the Jones bar! So, sold the jones bars (on here) and now want to go back to "off-road drops". Anyway, to save the planet, I wo...

Re: Bothys ..how much are they used?
I don't know about Chavs being a problem so much (yes I have met plenty in my time in the bothies) but what I find increasingly annoying is the amount of people who think the sole reason a bothy exists is to have the biggest fire imaginable and get absolutely pissed out of your mind. Don't get me wr...

Re: What's the best.....
Bike do go missing in Mid Wales.. but you kind of get the feeling that its a "good" or "bad" place to leave your bike unattended. So far I have been quite lucky with only one complete bike theft (in Tywyn) which was locked with much thicker cable lock than any seen on this thread...

Re: Inbred 29er Owners. Happy with your lot?
I like my 29er Inbred BUT as the other posters have said, the ONLY problem is its rear tyre clearance not being up to more fashionable sizes. I can get a 2.2 in there but that as big as it gets. You have too look at it for what it is (and has always been) a CHEAP steel bike frame, that is generally ...

Was a nice spot - in the rain - and wind - completely on my own too - kind of remote feeling.Glyn Tecwyn Uchaf - this is an amazing spot - best checkpoint on the board and was the main reason I endured the awful weather that afternoon to get to it

Re: Taking your bike on the train
All you need to know here: http://cycle.travel/advice/cycling_by_train Ariva are a nightmare on the Cardiff to Crew/Manchester route (Via Hereford, Church Stretton, Shrewsbury etc) as its only got space for 2 bikes, always busy and the guards enforce the on-booking = no travel rule. Booking by phone...

Nice to know as all the images I have seen (and the OS mean high water mark) suggests you run out of sand and hit boulders for much of the high tide range.

Re: WRT Grid Refs
Is there anywhere near the beach you can cycle heading north after Aberdyfi, or am I best sticking to the A493? Three options: 1. Ride along the beach... as long as its not at anytime between 14:00 and 15:30 as the tides in... 2. Ride alone the "naughty path" - through the golf course, an...

Re: The tide is in....
right... Having spent most of the night fretting about this (and getting the latest aerial photographs of the coastline from the Ordnance Servery) it would appear the tide goes all the way to the seawall and there sections that will be unride-able (where the railway "sticks out" into the s...

The tide is in....
As the WRT can* go along the beach - the tide being in at 14:35hrs on Saturday going to be an issue? I don't know the beach by the golf course so do not know how much beach is likely to be left exposed at high tide. And, I really do not want to have to ride along the footpath by the side of the golf...

Re: Should I go to Scotland or Wales?
Scotland... but drive at Night. Not only are the M roads less busy, and you don't miss out on the riding time per se (as you just get out at other end around lunchtime and ride off into the hills). I tend to leave Friday night (just after the rush hours starts to die off) and can be in Avimore by 13...
