Re: Gravel helmet with pockets!

The pocket is obviously for storing a packet of gravel (just in case you stumble across a stoning) 😉

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I just bought a set of these, for my new gravel bike...

...reasonably priced, compared to some other plug tools and - Brucie bonus - you might be able to match the colour of your bike.

Re: A budget GPS tracker that might help a few

The real downer to these devices, is downloading the trace from your trail hound, seeing just how much ground they cover (compared to you, on your bike) then feeling a bit inadequate

Cute pooch, BTW

Re: Stolen Goat buy Wildcat

The hardest thing is perhaps trying to transition from cottage / shed / barn manufacturer to something grander. This. What might appear straightforward from the outside is very different on the inside. But looking back, I’m pretty pleased the products we designed have stood the test of time. We had...

Re: Stolen Goat buy Wildcat

I've just had an email from Wildcat, offering me the opportunity to invest in them (well Herd Group Holdings, the new parent company) via crowdfunding. I'm oot but, if anybody else is interested, then here is the link... https://www.seedrs.com/the-herd-group/coming-soon?utm_source=Wildcat+Gear+News&...

Re: sleeping bag anti-snag zip thingy

Holy Thread Resurrection, BatPerson! Sent the bags away for cleaning and had to take my zip anti-snag things off. Took the opportunity to remake them again. As regular sufferers will know, Reg believes that any bikepacking accessory can be made from just cable ties and gaffer tape, in the same way ...

Re: Trail Recipe of the Day

I guess that the size of the cups doesn't matter, as long as everything else use the same cup.
All bets are off, though, when other ingredients are in specific measurements, as these don't scale with the cups.

Having said that, a lot of recipes can be tweaked, to suit preferences

Reason I was looking is my Joystick's doing something a bit weird that it's never done before. Switch it on then reduce intensity from green to orange or red, then after a second or so it flips back to green. Any ideas before I phone them tomorrow? When you change modes the light tells you which mo...

Re: Trail Recipe of the Day

Well, I got round to making some of the OPs recipe, yesterday... Used cashews, because I had some, and raisins, because I like a bit of fruit in my flapjacks. Almost killed my food processor, but added a bit more water just in time to loosen it up sufficiently. The texture is surprisingly rubbery - ...

Re: Trail Recipe of the Day

I understand the benefits of salt intake, but how much does a tablesppon affect the taste? It's a bit difficult to say, I tend to like salty food, but these didn't taste salty, just right. I guess you could try them with less salt and see. Next batch I might well try that. I feel that I'm about to ...

Re: Pole Feet

I'd consider making the base rounder Duncan. They'll obviously be very stable as are but should the tent decide to fall over, it''ll be more likely to bend / snap as you've set up a stress raiser. Ideally you want the pole to be able to fall over with the shelter rather than try and remain upright ...

Re: Modifying Drybags

I want to add some webbing loops to a couple of cheap hard wearing drybags (lomo ones) so I can use them with my aeroe rack so. The loops need to be there for the straps to go through so the bag doesn't migrate sideways ways. I don't want to sew them on as I want the bags to stay dry. Would fabric ...

Isobaa merino at sport persuit 50% off. No idea on the quality but just picked up a l/s top for 35 quid, about one third of the equivalent Smartwool. On a sort of relate note, I drove to work on Tuesday and got stuck in a line of cars behind a chap riding his bike in the middle of the road.
