Re: Chiltern Spring Thing 2018

At 5pm, just 12 km from The Squirrel, my right crank arm fell off and had to retreat to the nearest train station, That's really bad luck there Javi, we were probably only a few minutes in front of you, but doubt we'd have been able to fix that. There was some seriously gloopy gloop out there, but ...

Re: Chiltern Spring Thing 2018

Ay-Up chaps, Route, cafe & pub stop sorted for Saturday  Trails round here are running a little sticky (mild under estimate) so mud tyres are a good plan. So, current list of entrants to the 2018 Chiltern Bog Snorkelling Championships are: Mike, Pete + Dave Javi (joining us en-route) Steve...

I reckon that poring over maps for days on end is much more fun though. In fact, my belief is the actual event itself is merely a formality that has to be endured after all the armchair fun with the maps... Total concur with you Reg, however I'm from the digital age and love to do the same with onl...

Re: off road from Brecon to Llanwrtyd......help

Quite a bit of it was road to be honest and the off-road bits were fire roads / gravel tracks, but that's what we were aiming at on CX bikes. You have to keep off the Sennybridge Training Area I believe when the red flags are out (which they were when we came thru), so this is a permissive route aro...

Try an alpkit 13l bag or modify some cheapo ebay Tri bars which lets me run a similar setup with suspension forks. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2011320489

I'll settle on DD super light s not sure what bivy bag yet and I'll be in touch with Stu for some poles in the near future I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the above but the additional panel tie-outs on the alpkit tarps make quite a difference in how they pitch / what you can do. I've put my name down as interested, I'd have preferred a wild camp, but it looks like a good excuse to go back to the place I grew up and ride around a bit with some like minded people generally talking a lot of rot. Seatpack Stabiliser

More setup than MYOG, but I found that my new perch, Specialized Henge, has 2 screw holes at the back for some sort of bolt on saddle bag, so with the addition of a couple of screws and zip ties, it's really helped stabilise my Blackburn Outpost pack :-bd Dodgy pic, soz. https://farm5.staticflickr.c...
