I/we nearly bought one, but was put off by limited tyre clearance. The fazua looks a great system.

I'm on a similar mission, looking for something 'gravelly', that will handle a bit of lite MTB. Try and get a look at rear wheel vs BB motors. My favoured option is the Fazua drive. I thought there were a lot more in the Lakes. I don't remember the summit of Skiddaw trig being damaged - certainly reachable.

I know that this is something of a romantic notion but it's a shame common sense can't prevail. There's a few FP locally that the landowner has diverted without gaining the appropriate permissions. Generally, the new section is beneficial to all involved, well signed and helps remove the uncertaint...

Was in the Woolpack Inn, Eskdale on Sunday night. Great pizza, real ale (other drinks available), cute Labrador pup and dossing potential nearby. Would be an ideal stop for those who push through Wasdale to Eskdale.

Last year had Hardknott, Wrynose and Ulpha road climbs though (along with Walna Scar's gentle introductory tarmac). Apart from the extended HaB from Borrowdale to Wasdale, I don't think it's any tougher, especially - just fewer bail out options. There's more tarmac, which potentially makes it easier...
