Re: Just riding bikes innit?
Took me back to my Sheffield student days. That 'caff in't parks' was always welcome - features in a Pulp song too. It's nice watching someone talented 'rail and jump' a #gravel bike, but an MTB must be more fun....? It's about the riding fixed scene in Bristol a few years back. Did I see a differen...

Yes, the one you've linked on Amazon is squeezable. I didn't realise the OS bottle was different and was wondering what all the fuss was about. This link http://watertogo.refr.cc/andywilliamson will get you 20% discount off any order over £20, according to a recent email. I use the 75cl active https...

I/we nearly bought one, but was put off by limited tyre clearance. The fazua looks a great system.Dave Barter wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:08 pm The current Mrs B is a tiny 5’2”

Re: eBikes for the ladies?
I'm on a similar mission, looking for something 'gravelly', that will handle a bit of lite MTB. Try and get a look at rear wheel vs BB motors. My favoured option is the Fazua drive. If wider tyres/MTB aren't needed, then Boardman do a decent Fazua equipped hybrid: https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en...

Re: 2026 Historic Rights of Way deadline scrapped.
I know that this is something of a romantic notion but it's a shame common sense can't prevail. There's a few FP locally that the landowner has diverted without gaining the appropriate permissions. Generally, the new section is beneficial to all involved, well signed and helps remove the uncertaint...

Re: 2026 Historic Rights of Way deadline scrapped.
Given how untrustworthy this lot are I suspect the main aim of the change is related to this paragraph from that piece: As well as repealing the 2026 cut-off the government plans to introduce a "right to apply" for landowners to divert or extinguish rights of way in certain circumstances....

I'm doing it with my B-in-law, who is fairly new to all this. He did WHW over two days in August fairly comfortably, so he's competent. I reckon we'll aim to overnight in Eskdale.

I don't know if this will work for everyone, as it isn't an advertised offer, but...... I went into Evans to buy a new light, and had my eye on the Exposure Strada SB. Was in the Woolpack Inn, Eskdale on Sunday night. Great pizza, real ale (other drinks available), cute Labrador pup and dossing potential nearby. Would be an ideal stop for those who push through Wasdale to Eskdale.

Last year had Hardknott, Wrynose and Ulpha road climbs though (along with Walna Scar's gentle introductory tarmac). Apart from the extended HaB from Borrowdale to Wasdale, I don't think it's any tougher, especially - just fewer bail out options. There's more tarmac, which potentially makes it easier...

The route isn't published, but it's easy enough to work out a touring route through the Borders area.
