Re: Recommend 3-4 man family bikepacking tent

The eureka looks very much like the golite Shangri la 3 - which is a brilliant tent I've used it for up to 4 people.

Wikiup also do a version which is pricier. I can't seem to find anyone doing a version of the shangri la 5 which would be great for 4

Re: The Ridgeway - a better walk than a ride?

I followed Bill Bailey's walk on the Ridgeway before I rode it . . . I am glad I was on two wheels but he did seem to enjoy it enough to do it again

Re: Any short Fargo owners near Sheffield?

I am in Manchester today so was planning on popping in to see Shona. I want something that I can more road friendly gears on. That is lighter - so ti Fargo would be my thought. I need height at the front not just flat and the high head tube of the Fargo appeals. I doubt I'd have drop bars on it as t...

Any short Fargo owners near Sheffield?

A somewhat random request I know, but in trying to find a bike that will be more road like than my stooge. But works with my new non bendy neck

I was wondering if anyone has one I can take a look at to see if I could make it work.

Re: Anybody been ill after bikepacking

I always think Matt's waterbottle cover fashioned out of a plastic milk carton is a good idea - but ive never got around to making one myself. tbh I try and make sure the outside of the bottle is clean before I go near it - and I don't tend to drink much anyway as I ride either way ive never been ill

Really wanted to join you, but I'm afraid my (very sensible) fear of falling got the better of me.
Had a couple of brief encounters with ice so far this year and I'm not sure I have the nerve for it at the moment

Re: Bothy ghosts

I used to cycle under a bridge in peterborough fairly often, it had a metal gate to navigate before you went under. Every time I went past in either direction I would see a figure crouched underneath the platform of the bridge. It wasn't there is I looked straight at it- but always out of the corner...

Re: Northern winter bivi

We seem to have a Brexit situation for the northern winter bivi - the consensus seems to be that it's wanted . . . But the plans on how it's going to happen are not coming together so easily!

I think we almost got to agreeing that a Yorkshire/peaks event on 'the winter bivi weekend' would work

Re: BB200 Well done.

A big thank you from me! I can quite honestly say I didn't speak to a single person about the BB200 before the event who thought it was a good idea for me to give it a try. However I was compelled to do it as I knew it would be a real test of what I was capable of post neck fiasco. It was tough and ...

Calories burnt in BB200

Had to share - Mike has been so confused as to how strava said he'd only used 3500 calories for the entire BB200 . . . After listening to him grumbling about it for a while I checked his account - he'd listed his weight as 78lb! I think he was worried he was going to have to cut back on his cake con...

Oh and it closes early on Monday 9.30, doesn't open on Tuesdays and is open as normal the rest of the week - until 11.30 on Sat

Just in case you are thinking of ringing to check if it's open tomorrow - Google says it won't be :)
