Re: French tour help
I don't know if it's of any use to you, but if you're thinking of camping and using municipal campsites in France I have a .gpx file with the locations of all of them (it's a year or so old so possibly not 100% up to date). Can't help with the route as my French touring has been more westerly.

Utterly, utterly crestfallen.....
So said the expression of the young lad and his female accomplice when they arrived (by some sort of mini-moto device...) at the location chosen by yours truly as being a suitably quiet spot for a bivvy. Since there were still shelduck, oystercatchers and cormorants about I assumed they were plannin...

Re: genesis fortitude adv fork clearance
Hi Nick, what's the clear space between the fork legs? We know that a 2.4" will fit ok (edit after post above - my 2.4 fitted neatly when tried at the WRT). My Ogre is around 95mm clear and I've seen a 3" tyre in with a little room to spare (not sure on rim width though). Wouldn't like it ...

Re: whats the best garmin gps to buy
In response to the OPs question about the Edge Touring, I have one and in all honesty I can't recommend it. I find that the screen is far too small to be of any use with mapping (ie trying to follow a marked route), and the resolution isn't high enough (this might just be me though) I've also had pr...

Re: Source for sliding dropouts?
I have just bent mech hangers straight in the past, figuring there's not much to lose if they're already bent and otherwise scrap. I presume that there would be a bit more to a sliding dropout so this may not work... I don't profess to be an engineer of any sort, but they've not failed so far. I wil...

Re: Clips or flats?
You might find it beneficial to unscrew the pins and remove the small spacers. It'll push the pins out further which will help with grip. Cheers Chew, I'll give that a go. I too did the graceful sideways collapse a few times, a couple with clips & straps (loooong time ago) and then repeated whe...

As now in the Postmans Been thread, I'm now the proud owner of a set of Saint pedals... let's see how we get on.

Re: Clips or flats?
Right then, a shiny pair of Saint pedals should be winging their to my humble abode, lets see how we get on.
I'll start off with some approach type shoes I already have, they're a bit knackered but will give me some info on what I want in a new pair

Re: Clips or flats?
The advantages for me are its easier for when you have to push or walk about off the bike and on long rides you can alter your foot position around so you can use different muscles and release aches. Chew - the first bit of this is what I'm interested in, not only when it's muddy and things are get...

Clips or flats?
Now then, I've ridden clipless pedals for 20 odd years for road and offroad. Never really been interested in trying flats, but I'm having a bit of a rethink. On the WRT I was the only one of our little group (Chew's LHC B Team reserves) using clipless. Certainly not an issue in itself, but I did get...
