Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Yesterday, I was invited to Bonneville to play with this*. Am I going? Don't know but been asked cheered me up ... and it's not raining. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/5e831d00b13b87280a18820a/1638132305864-H97XSWFAO7PKDHA9QZNZ/IMG_2707.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg *fo...

Crossing Dartmoor North to South

I have thought about riding across Dartmoor for several years now. It is practically on my doorstep and definitely closer than Mid-Wales! I cannot explain why I have not had a proper ride out there before, apart for the very occasional little nibbles around the edges. So, some annual leave was booke...

This thread confirms to me that there is always someone, somewhere actively looking to be offended and/or outraged... We can be a very crap species... I like them and would like to try them, but i'm not 100% sure I would actually buy them...

I like the effort and skill put into making them too.

Re: OT Kelly Kettles

Had one for years until it literally dissolved. Great fun and really lovely to sit around while it roars. One word of caution. Never boil water with the cork/stopper in... My son suffered 2nd degree burns when someone forgot that on a Scout camp and it exploded over him pouring boiling water over hi...

Re: WRT and routes.

I think having a choice of optional pre-plotted WRT routes is a good thing. They are not compulsory, and those who choose to plot their own route inspired by Stuart's GRs can continue to do so. I think I would favour a provided route if I was a first timer... Maybe. Although I didn't when I was a fi...

Re: Pleasant Valley Sunday.

This weekend highlighted to me that you never stop learning. I live in South Devon and typically travel up to Malvern on Friday, stay overnight with family and then nip over to Wales early Saturday morning. I have done this many times over the years and it works well for me. I realised that I had fo...

Re: Pleasant Valley Sunday.

I've shortened my preferred route to somewhere between 65 and 70 km, with the intent to kip somewhere around Glaslyn area. Suddenly realised that if I'm going somewhere remote that I've never been to before and have no real idea about, it might be best not to do it in a freezing cold cloud... Recko...

Got to the last bread delivery of the day at local hostelry. Invited in for coffee and breakfast, which consisted of glorious poached eggs and bacon on my sourdough, toasted with some panfried rainbow chard to garnish. Don't mind if I do! Re: Bearbones snoods

Dave, I have a flouro yellow BB (embroidered in black) snood/buff/neck tube gaiter you can have if you want? It's like the Polar Buffs. Half fleece, half regular material. I have never worn it, (well, only to try it on). I can meet you near Cantina in Goodrington on Friday morning if that suits you?...

Blimey, you all have good memories!

Still use my WE goodies... except the fluffy dice, which hang proudly in the bike store... Actually, I guess that means I still use them...

Usually have a good laugh at the WE.... Or that maybe the uncontrollable shivering...

Re: Change of lifestyle maybe ?

I imagine nearly all of us will have periods of feeling just like this in our life. I had been struck with the "what's the point of it all" for over a decade and really struggled with the seemingly never-ending routine of the doing the same job for the same organisation for what seems like...

I hope you have a great time.

Sorry I can't make it this weekend, but I do intend to ride your route at some point in the future. Wether that be in the BB200 Reliability trial style, or a more gentle approach remains to be seen.

1st Comp Safari event for about 4 years. We* drove the 1st incarnation of the truck beyond some of the driveline's limits, so we went back to the drawing board and completely redesigned and rebuilt it. Finally ready to get it back out there and see if the concept works. Which club do you race with?...
