Re: DIY wheel building

What wheel building stands do people use? I've never managed to find one that is a reasonable price and fits big (wide 29) wheels or modern hubs Pedros... got it off fleabay and similar priced as a new Parktools... vaguely exciting piece of engineering (although I'm not qualified like many on here ...

Re: Will this work?

Shaf, the rivets you need are called Rivnuts, search on here and you'll get a couple of threads about them. We've talked about them before. Yup... I seem to remember you mentioning/teaching on them... All good for the mo as I used the stem cell trick and he's well chuffed with it. Wish he'd stop tr...

£621 sent across to the hospital and the reference code messaged to the ICU manager (Elaine Hunter... she's amazing) so she can track it and get it extracted to the ICU funds... I did giftaid it in case anyone wonders :-bd based upon what Dave said last time that the money given to me to ensure it g...

Re: ENDING 9pm: Ti Stooge auction - respirator fundraiser

I can confirm reciept of £611 and £10... I shall sort that out tomorrow by transferring the funds over to thw York charity funds page and message my manager with the reference code so they can chase it up at their ends for the ICU... Probably easier if any wished to donate, to donate directly via th...

Re: Hey Shaf (and any others on the front line)

Again.. Amazingly said mate. To add to that list.. I started selling bits for my own respirator (well worth it) and paid above the odds (there's a supply demand issue so potentially I bought the only new one still available off an ebay trade seller) but in the menawhile the folk off of here also fun...

Re: Hey Shaf (and any others on the front line)

All good in my neck of woods. Lockdown looks to have been very effective. Bit of concern as to where our usual work has gone though. Plenty of PPE on our ambulances and staff absences still being covered. Yes it's tough, every job is more complicated now but we're still smiling. Dave Paramedic Well...

Will this work?

Aside from the mud issues (might have to be a kleen kanteen or similar water bottle to ensure no actual b.d.o.n* spout to get clogged) which the little one refuses to accept. Seems clearance might be ok but I don't plan to use them adaptors as it would mean the bittle sricks out farther than needed....

Re: 'Doping scandal of the Highland Trail 550'...?

Someone in my family was prescribed Tramadol for pain relief. Its not exactly difficult to come by. As Neil says, if I'd been taking it on advice of my GP then it would never had occurred to me to check it was banned. I didn't even know the HTR550 operated under UCI rules. I wonder if the nex...

I think the idea is to minimise the potential for us to have to call upon the assistance of others ie by coming a cropper in a remote place As husband to a frontline NHS superstar this is exactly the thing. Not just to spare a limited resource, people and ppe - but also to protect them and ourselve...
